Smart Bio-Polymer Composite Systems for Sustainable Bio-Polymer Composite Media for Enhanced Pollutant Removal in Constructed Wetland Systems Using Machine Learning
Abstract: Constructed wetlands are widely used for wastewater treatment due to their low cost and ecological compatibility; however, their efficiency in removing emerging contaminants remains limited. This study presents the development of biodegradable polymer-based composite materials integrated into wetland filtration systems to enhance pollutant removal efficiency. Bio-polymers combined with natural fillers such as biochar and clay were synthesized and evaluated under simulated wetland conditions. The results demonstrate improved adsorption capacity, increased …

CdS-Based Photocatalytic Nanostructures: A Promising Material for Various Environmental Applications
Abstract: Modern technological and industrial progress has significantly increased the use of chemicals in product development, leading to greater contamination of water sources by conventional pollutants (such as organic dyes and heavy metals) and harmful microorganisms. Wastewater treatment processes now reveal “emerging pollutants,” including pharmaceuticals, endocrine disruptors, and agricultural chemicals. Certain emerging pollutants, though harmless in some cases, can pose serious risks to various organisms. To address this, researchers are exploring …

Treatment of Textile Industrial Wastewater using Hydrophilized Polyamide Nanofiltration Membrane for Water Recovery and Reuse
Abstract: The textile industry is very water intensive. Water is used for cleaning the raw material and for many flushing steps during the entire production process. During the process a large quantity of wastewater is produced which consists of dyes, heavy metals, pigments, and surfactants in high concentration levels all around the world. Dyes and other chemical laden wastewater released by textile industries is a major concern for the treatment which …
