Wear Characterization of Al/B4C/CNT Composites for Different Alloying Composition
Abstract: Wear is a surface phenomenon that occurs predominantly at the surface of the material. It is majorly due to the rubbing action between two surfaces that is attributed to solid state contact. As wear is a material removal phenomena occurring at the outer surfaces, it is indeed very apt to develop materials that have wear resistant characteristics. Henceforth in the current work, it is therefore judicially justified to develop a …

Evaluation of Mechanical Property and Optimization of the Dry Sliding Wear Behavior of Carbon Black-Alumina-Epoxy-Glass Composite by using Design of Experiments
Abstract: The research work is mainly focused on investigating the effects of wear parameters: filler content (0%, 4% CB, 4% Al2O3,and 2% CB + 2% Al2O3), applied load (4.905, 9.810, 14.710, and 19.62 N), sliding distance (20, 30, 40, and 50 mm) by using Design of Experiments (DOEs) approach. The experimental results were analyzed using MINITAB V16 scientific graphical and data analysis software. Signal-to-Noise (S/N) ratio, analysis of variance (ANOVA) proved …

Tribological Behaviour of En 31 Bearing Steel Against Altin, Alcrn and Crn Coated High Speed Steel
Abstract: Mechanical parts like bearing in modern machining systems are often subjected to wear and friction causing high heat generation at the interacting zones leading to reduced lifecycle and increased energy consumption of machinery. In this investigation friction and wear characteristics of bearing material EN31 steel against the CrN, AlCrN and AlTiN deposited on high speed steel as counter material is presented. Tribological tests are conducted on a pin on disc …

Understanding the Structural Stability of the Tehri Dam: A Comprehensive Analysis
Abstract: The Tehri dam is the highest dam in India. The height of dam is 260 m. It is situated on the Himalayan region which is in earthquake prone region. A Sengupta in 2006 found that the predicted deformation due to an M=7.0 earthquake are not large enough to compromise the safety of the dam. However the deformation predicted by Seed and Makdisi’s method, and Bureau’s method for an M=8.5 earthquake …

Development and Validation of HPTLC Methods for Estimation of Trimebutine Maleate in Pharmaceutical Formulation
Abstract: A simple and rapid high-performance thin-layer chromatographic (HPTLC) method was developed and validated for quantitative determination of trimebutine maleate in single dose formulation. Trimebutine maleate was chromatographed on silica gel 60 F 254 TLC plate using methanol–toluene (8:2 v/v) as mobile phase. The plates were developed to a distance of 8 cm at ambient temperature. Trimebutine maleate was quantified by densitometric analysis at 271 nm. The method was found to …

Sensitivity Analysis of Tractor Three-point Hitch Linkage System
Abstract: AbstractFarm tractors have the three-point hitch linkage system for the attachment of farm implements. The three-point hitch linkage system of the Indian tractors have the provision to attach the lift rod at two or three points on the lower link and attach the upper link at two or three locations on the tractor body. Appropriate utilization of these provisions during farm operations using various implements ensures that the engine power …

Analysis of Communication Tower under Wind Load
Abstract: With the rapid and widespread expansion of long distance broadcasting and communication in last two decades, the structural engineers have been faced with the problem of support of antennas at great heights, which is necessary to broadcast signals over long distance. In addition, the field of power transmission also requires the high tension conductors to be installed at reasonable heights. The present study focus on analysis of communication towers for …

Styrene, Carbonate Materials to Minimize Aberration in Free Space Optical Communications
Abstract: Enhancing wireless connectivity, particularly in harsh weather circumstances, is possible through the use of polymer-based materials in Free Space Optical (FSO) communication systems. In the production of optical components like lenses, beam shapers, and protective enclosures for FSO transmitters and receivers, polymers are being used more and more because of their lightweight, affordable, and adjustable optical qualities. This study examines how well a polymer-integrated FSO link performs over 1–10 km …

Seasonal Assessment of Radon, Thoron and their Progeny levels in the Dwellings near the Fly Ash Dumping Site situated in Faridabad (Haryana), India
Abstract: In order to meet the growing demand forof electricity, coal- based thermal power plants are widely used all over the world. These thermal power plants produce a huge amount of fly ash as a by- product of coal combustion. The disposal and management of this ash become a challenging problem for the environmentalist and scientist. Coal ash contains an enhanced level of radionuclides along with some other elements, that are …
