Extraction and Characterization of Pectin from Malabar Tamarind, and Indian Wild Lime
Abstract: Pectin is a versatile heteropolysaccharide that is widely used in the food, pharmaceutical, and biomedical industries because of its gelling, stabilizing, and emulsifying properties. This review discusses the extraction of pectin from agro-waste peels of Malabar tamarind (Garcinia cambogia) and Indian wild lime (Citrus indica) using conventional acid hydrolysis under optimized conditions: pH 1.5–2.0, 85–90°C, and 90 minutes. Use of Additives in Soil Stabilization
Abstract: Soil stabilization is a ground improvement technique through which soil is made strong enough to bear the structures load. The swell-shrink properties of expansive soils can be reduced and made useful for construction purposes using various stabilizing materials like cement, lime, fly ash, chemicals, etc. Cement stabilization causes environmental pollution. Microbial-induced carbonate precipitation and enzymatic-induced carbonate precipitation methods can be considered as innovative methods in place of cement soil stabilization. …

Na-Air Battery: The Battery of the Future—A Review
Abstract: Metal-ion batteries came into the limelight with the invention of Zn-ion battery as early as 1878, but its commercial viability came into picture in 1990 and lithium-ion cell in 1977. Since then, a number of metals have been experimented upon and similar rechargeable secondary storage batteries like Al-ion, Na-ion, Sn-ion, Mg-ion, K-ion have been developed. In this type of battery, electrochemical dynamics involves the movement of only one kind of …
