Modeling of Transformer Windings having Non-uniform Inductance Distribution
Abstract: A direct analytical procedure for analyzing power transformer windings with location-dependent series inductance is presented. This dependence is typically introduced in order to take the inter-turn mutual inductive coupling into consideration. The paper addresses the frequency domain analysis conducted in the complex s- or the jω-domains. Results for the frequency-dependent winding’s input impedance with different treatments of the transformer’s neutral point will be available. The frequency characteristics including the resonance …

Developing a Model in Matlab/Simulink Environment for Induction Motor Considering Core Loss and Stray Load Loss
Abstract: This paper focuses on a Matlab/Simulink model of a squirrel-cage induction motor with consideration of core loss and stray load loss. This model is based on some mathematical expressions and also described through an equivalent circuit including core loss and stray load loss. The model of induction motor has been developed based on the state space equations in a synchronously rotating reference frame, where core loss and stray load losses …

The Electromagnetic Transients in Mixed Power Networks with Partial Undergrounding
Abstract: This paper deals with the electromagnetic transients in partially undergrounded mixed high voltage power networks. These networks can include several cable sections replacing parts of the overhead transmission lines. The analysis yields the transient voltage and current distributions along the normal and the partially undergrounded lines. Moreover, the results can indicate eventually existing localized voltage and current concentrations within the network. The study suggests an exact direct analytical distributed parameter …

Spintronic Logic Circuits for Ultrafast Processing
Abstract: Spintronic logic has emerged as one of the most promising post-CMOS paradigms capable of addressing the speed, density, and energy challenges of deeply scaled silicon technologies. By relying on the intrinsic properties of electron spin and magnetization dynamics, spintronic devices—particularly Magnetic Tunnel Junctions (MTJs), Spin-Transfer Torque (STT), and Spin–Orbit Torque (SOT) structures—enable ultrafast, non-volatile data processing with significantly reduced energy consumption. Despite remarkable device-level advancements, circuit- level realization of high-speed, …

Design of CMOS AM Modem for Wireless Sensors
Abstract: A design of amplitude modulated (AM) modem, compatible to CMOS technology for its monolithic integration with either wireless microsensors or other sources of baseband signals, is presented in this paper operating in different frequency bands. Circuits functional in different operating conditions are considered in the paper to satisfy the requirement from low- to high-speed signals produced either from the wireless sensor or other signal source to be modulated on a …

Transient Analysis of Electronic Circuits Including Zener Diodes
Abstract: This paper addresses the transient analysis of the electronic circuits incorporating Zener diodes. It starts with suggesting a new Zener diode model. The model is based on efficiently utilized step functions of the applied voltage. It includes also the diode’s main technical parameters such as its resistances in both the forward and reverse current directions as well as its Zener’s breakdown voltage. The sharp discontinuities of the step-functions are dealt …

Environmental Impact Assessment of Ocean Energy Converters Using Quantum Machine Learning
Abstract: The accelerating deployment of ocean energy converters (OECs) across tidal, wave, osmotic, and thermal domains necessitates rigorous, data-intensive environmental impact assessment (EIA) frameworks capable of modelling multi-stressor marine ecosystems in real time. Classical machine learning approaches, while operationally mature, encounter scalability bottlenecks and feature correlation limitations when applied to the high-dimensional, non-linear datasets characteristic of offshore monitoring networks. This paper presents a comprehensive quantum machine learning (QML) framework for the …
