A Review of Properties of Geopolymer Concrete
Abstract: The growing need for concrete around the world has led to both more concrete being made and more of it being used. Carbon dioxide is released into the atmosphere when regular Portland cement is made, which contributes to global warming (OPC). because concrete that is good for the environment needs new kinds of binders. Using different binders could cut down on the energy needed to make traditional concrete and the …

New Analytical Reagents and Study of Preparation, Spectral Characterization, Scanning Microscopy, and Solubility Behaviors
Abstract: Chemical reagents used in chemical processes vary depending on the process in which they are used, but in general, chemical reagents are used to conduct quality analyses, to determine the contents of various chemical elements in raw materials and in finished products, to adjust the pH and alkalinity of chemical solutions, and to react with other chemicals and produce products. There are some examples of chemical reagents used in chemical …

Effects of Polypropylene Fibre on Strength of Geopolymer Concrete
Abstract: In the construction industry, the most vital parameter considered in the current scenario is the sustainable development of the structures. The most used material in construction is concrete, which is primarily made up of Portland cement. The production of Portland cement is nearly about 2.6 billion tonnes per year and is increasing at the rate of 5% annually. The concrete industry contributes about 5–8% of all human generated carbon dioxide …

Characterization of Nano-Clay Reinforced Polymer Composites: Enhancing Performance for Extreme Applications
Abstract: This study investigates the mechanical, thermal, water absorption, and chemical resistance properties of nano-clay-reinforced polymer composites and polymer concrete. The incorporation of 1-5 wt% nano-clay resulted in a significant enhancement across all properties. Mechanical testing revealed a 42.86% increase in tensile strength (35 MPa to 50 MPa), 40% improvement in flexural strength (50 MPa to 70 MPa), and 46.67% rise in compressive strength (75 MPa to 110 MPa), attributed to …

Study of Adsorption of Nickel on Soil in Rural Area of Hadoti Region: An Ethical Approach to Reduce Soil Pollution
Abstract: Nickel (Ni), one of the toxic heavy metals, is widely distributed in soil and aquatic ecosystems. The chemical nature of the soil has a significant impact on the environment. The adsorption reaction of nickel in alkaline soils is the main topic of this research. The removal of Ni (II) from aqueous solutions uses soil as an adsorbent. Batch adsorption studies were used to study the effects of various factors, including …

Effect of Hooked-end Steel Fibre Incorporation in the Performance of Slag Based Geopolymeric Concrete Mixes
Abstract: In this study the efforts have been undertaken to evaluate the performance of slag based geopolymer concrete (GC) when hooked-end steel fibres have been incorporated in different percentages i.e. 0%, 0.5%, 1.0%, 1.5% and 2.0% to the mix. The alkaline activator used in this study was the dissolution of solid sodium hydroxide flakes in liquid state sodium silicate solution, dissolved in water. The compressive strength, split-tensile strength, shear strength and …

Fabrication, Interfacial Characterization, and Superparamagnetic Properties of Fe₃O₄@γ-Fe₂O₃ Core/Shell Nanoparticle-Reinforced Chitosan Biopolymer Composites
Abstract: Magnetite/maghemite core/shell nanoparticles were prepared by alkaline co-precipitation of Fe(II) and Fe(III) precursors followed by controlled thermal oxidation at 350 °C and subsequently incorporated into chitosan at 1, 3, and 5 wt% loadings by solution casting. The resulting films were evaluated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HR-TEM), vibrating-sample magnetometry (VSM), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), and tensile testing. XRD showed the characteristic cubic spinel reflections …

Surface Modified Abaca Fibers: Physico-Mechanical, Morphological and Degradation Properties Evaluation
Abstract: Lignocellulosic fibers are used as cost-cutting fillers in plastics factories. Amid several factors, the ultimate performance of composite ingredients depends on the bond between the matrix resin and the filler, and hence on the quality of the interface. To acquire optimal performance of the end product, adequate interaction between the matrix and the lignocellulosic ingredient is preferred. This is often acquired through surface modification of the matrix or filler. Abaca …
