Is Bottled Water Better than Tap Water?
Abstract: Objective: There has been a persistent rise in bottled water consumption over the last two decades. Little is known about the health benefits of bottled water. The purpose of this study was to improve understanding of the public's health believes concerning bottled mineral water, and to know whether these believes influence water consumption habits. Method: Extensive review of literature was done to compare bottled water and tap water and also …

Efficacy of a Unani Formulation in Improving Fairness: A Clinical Study
Abstract: Physicians and dermatologists are searching for preparation of long-term topical dermal care treatments to address problems of skin hyper-pigmentation. Some women want to “lighten” skin tone by achieving improved visible tone. Unani system of medicine contains treatise of crude and compound formulations that can be administered orally and locally in improving fairness. These preparations are useful, effective and well tolerated. The objective of the study was to evaluate the efficacy …

Evaluation of Best Watershed Management Practice for Sediment Yield Reduction (The Case Study of Baro Akobo of Upper Gilo Watershed, Ethiopia)
Abstract: This study aimed to estimate the sediment yield, evaluating its distribution, and compare the selected Best Management Practices (BMPs) and identify relatively effective management practices to alleviate soil erosion and sedimentation yield in the Upper Gillo watershed. Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) model with the interface of Geographical Information System (GIS) were used to simulate, streamflow and sediment yield. Meteorological, hydrological and spatial data were used while modeling the …

Air Quality monitoring system
Abstract: Air pollution has emerged as one of the most serious environmental challenges of the modern era, posing significant threats to human health, ecological balance, and overall quality of life. Rapid industrialization, urbanization, increasing vehicular emissions, and the extensive use of fossil fuels have led to a continuous rise in air pollutant levels, especially in densely populated urban areas. Air pollution has emerged as a major environmental and public health concern …

A Reproducible Low-cost Adaptive Cruise Control Platform with Lidar–Ultrasonic Sensor Fusion and Timer-conflict-free Servo-Scanned Blind-spot Detection on Arduino UNO
Abstract: Road traffic deaths caused by driver distraction and inadequate surroundings remain a big problem for preventable deaths. This paper talks about designing and testing an affordable, easy-to-copy Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) system. It uses LiDAR-ultrasonic sensors to figure out how far things are in front of the car, and a servo-actuated, dynamically scanned blind spot detector. All of this runs on a single Arduino Uno. To measure front distance, they …

Design and Fabrication of Mini-Household Water Treatment System
Abstract: Access to safe drinking water remains a serious challenge in many developing countries, including Nigeria, due to pollution, poor infrastructure, and ineffective water management. This study presents the design, fabrication, and performance evaluation of a mini household water treatment system that uses charcoal carbon derived from desert date wood. The project aims to provide a low-cost, gravity-driven, and sustainable water purification solution for rural and peri-urban households. The system consists …

Smart Drainage Cleaning System: A Technological Intervention for Occupational Health and Urban Sanitation
Abstract: Manual drainage maintenance in urban environments remains a hazardous task, exposing sanitation workers to toxic gases, infections, and life-threatening accidents. This paper presents the development of an automated 12V Smart Drainage Cleaning System designed to eliminate manual scavenging and enhance cleaning efficiency. The robotic model operates on a 12V DC power supply, integrating an ultrasonic sensor for real time obstacle detection and automated navigation within narrow drainage pathways. The core …

Quantitative Study on the Impact of Holding Duration on Unfiltered FFP Composition
Abstract: Ensuring the safety and quality of transfusion products is a cornerstone of transfusion medicine. The presence of leucocytes in blood components can lead to adverse reactions and increase the likelihood of transfusion-related complications, highlighting the importance of minimizing their content prior to transfusion. Elevated leucocyte levels have been detected in unfiltered fresh frozen plasma (FFP) units prepared from whole blood processed after a short holding time (SHT) – the interval …

Nanostructure-Induced Thermoelectric Enhancement in Bi2Te3 Nanorod Design, Analysis, and Performance Evaluation
Abstract: Thermoelectric materials capable of efficient energy conversion near room temperature are critical for waste heat recovery applications. In this work, solution-grown Bi2Te3 nanorods were synthesized via a trioctylphosphine-assisted thermal decomposition route, and the influence of surfactant-induced nanostructuring on their thermoelectric properties was systematically investigated. Structural analysis using X-ray diffraction and Rietveld refinement confirmed the formation of rhombohedral Bi2Te3 with the emergence of Bi2Te3–BiTe nanocomposites at higher surfactant concentrations. Electron microscopy …
