Aluminium in Libyan Cereals and Its Daily Intake Assessment
Abstract: Dietary aluminium intake in Libya was estimated by consuming cereals. Aluminium concentrations of wheat, barley, corn, and rice were determined by inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). Aluminium content in cereals ranged from 0.62 to 40 mg/kg. The daily dietary aluminium intakes from wheat, barley, corn, and rice were 7.86, 0.56, 0.018 and 0.115 mg/day, respectively, however, for all cereals was 8.56 mg/day. The mean weekly percentages of the provisional tolerable …

Eugenol Prevents Sodium Nitrate-induced Altered Antioxidant Status of Spermatozoa: An In Vitro Study
Abstract: Background: High level of nitrate (NO3) induces oxidative stress which affects the male and female reproductive system. In this regard, there is a great concern for the prevention of NO3-induced oxidative stress in the reproductive system by using herbal products. Eugenol is one such natural product found in clove extracted from cloves (Syzygium aromaticum) and is known for its antioxidant, anti-nociceptive, anti-inflammatory, and anti-apoptotic properties. Aim and Objectives: The present …

Transient Stability Comparison for an Integrated Power System Using Statcom and SVC
Abstract: Transient stability control plays a significant role in maintaining the stable operation of power systems in case of large disturbances and faults. This paper compares the role of Static Synchronous Compensator (STATCOM) and Static Var Compensator (SVC) in mitigating the fault and establishing transient stability in a 9 MW integrated wind farm power plant. SVC and STATCOM are FACTS (Flexible Alternating Current Transmission System) devices used for efficient power flow …

Study of DFIG with Rotor Excited Through Inverter and Method of Efficiency Maximization
Abstract: AbstractIn order to extract maximum power output from a DFIG or Doubly fed Induction Generator, maximum mechanical power must be extracted from wind turbine and the losses must be minimized. As the wind speed is not fixed, in order to get maximum power and minimum losses, the d-axis and q-axis rotor currents I*dr and I*qr are controlled according to the changes in wind speed. In this research, Genetic Algorithms are …

Nephroprotective Effect of Exogenous Melatonin and Plant Extract of Costus Igneous Nak
Abstract: Present study was designed to evaluate the nephroprotective effect of exogenous melatonin and insulin plant extract against diabetic induced renal alterations. Diabetic rat model was developed by intraperitoneal treatment of STZ to adult female rat (15 mg/kg) for continuous 6 days. Diabetes was confirmed by checking the blood glucose level. Following confirmation and successful induction, rats were randomly divided into six different groups group viz. group-I (control), group-II (Diabetic control), …

Neuropathic Potential of Cabazitaxel Comparative to Paclitaxel and Ameliorative Effect of Capsaicin
Abstract: Paclitaxel and cabazitaxel both are the cytotoxic anticancer drugs having microtubule damaging property. The study aims at comparative neuropathic potential evaluation of cabazitaxel against paclitaxel and to assess the efficacy level of intraperitoneally applied capsaicin isolated from Capsicum annuum seed against both paclitaxel and cabazitaxel-induced neuropathy. Neuropathy was evaluated of heat hyperalgesia, cold allodynia, tactile mechanical hyperalgesia and extent of motor incoordination and motor impairment development on mice. Alternate day …

Indigenous Technical Knowledge Associated with Ethnomedicines in Banwar Village (Gwalior District), Madhya Pradesh, India
Abstract: Application of traditional knowledge is considered to be a simple and cost-effective way of immediate protection and well-being of living organisms in the society. However, the technique and its application differ across regions. The main objective of the study was to explore the indigenous techniques applied by the inhabitants of Banwar village, Madhya Pradesh, to protect the health of humans, crops and livestock through ethnomedicines. The investigation has been carried …

Evaluation of Anaesthetic Protocol for Zebrafish Embryo (Danio rerio): Lignocaine Combined with Diazepam and Ketamine with different doses Temperature Modulation
Abstract: Zebrafish (Danio rerio) model is economically viable and scientifically significant to identify several human diseases. It has genetic homology to humans (80-85%). Its other advantages are high reproductive success, embryo and larvae transparency and rapid development. Also compared to mammals, the maintenance cost of Zebrafish is lower. Ethyl 3-aminobenzoate methane sulfonate (MS-222) is known as the standard fish Anaesthetic and widely used in Zebrafish, but it can have adverse effects …

Role of Unani Formulation ‘Zaroor-E-Qawi’ in re-epithelialisation of the Chronic Wound: A Single Arm Prospective Clinical Study
Abstract: Background: Epithelialisation i.e. restoration of an intact epidermal layer is an essential criterion for wound healing. In fact, a wound which is not reepithelialised completely is not considered as healed one, no matter how perfectly the underlying dermal structures are restored. When the process of epithelialisation is compromised, impaired or delayed, it results in non-healing wound. Objectives: To assess the effect of the Unani formulation Zaroor-E-Qawi in the induction of …
