Candida auris—An Emerging Superbug
Abstract: Fungi are eukaryotic organisms that are found everywhere on Earth. Usually, the optimum conditions that are required for a fungus to grow are acidic pH range of 3–4 and temperature of 25–35 °C. But recently, researchers have found some strains of fungi that are sensitive to acidic pH and low temperature of 25–35 °C whereas they are resistant to basic pH and high temperature. These strains include the species of …

Clinical Applications and Mechanism of Leech Therapy from the Perspective of Unani and Conventional Medicine: A Review
Abstract: Leech therapy is a kind of bloodletting that involves using leeches to remove a significant volume of blood from the body. Leeches are hermaphrodites, annelid worms that feed on blood and have a noticeable capacity to expand or contract. Hirudinaria granulosa is a type of Indian leech that has therapeutic qualities. Leech therapy operates on the tenets of Imala-i-Mawād (Diversion of morbid matter) and Tanqiya-e- Mawād (Evacuation of Morbid matter). …

Perineal Hernia in a Buffalo Heifer: A Case Report
Abstract: A very rare case of perineal hernia has been recorded in a graded Murrah buffalo heifer calf. Chronic diarrhoea and tenesmus were thought to weaken the pelvic diaphragm and subsequent trauma lead to herniation of pelvic viscera like urinary bladder and a loop of large intestine. The herniation was bilateral appearing on either side of the anus. Herniorrhaphy was carried out under local analgesia and no recurrence was noticed thereafter. …

Immunohistochemical Detection of c-Myc in Lungs of Sheep with Ovine Pulmonary Adenocarcinoma
Abstract: vine pulmonary adenocarcinoma, a naturally occurring lung cancer of sheep was diagnosed in seventeen cases at slaughter houses. Lung tumor tissues and associated lymph nodes were collected for histopathological and immunohistochemical studies. Histologically, the lung sections from OPA cases revealed areas of non encapsulated proliferation of alveolar epithelial cells in papillary or acinar pattern. Polyploid ingrowths were also noticed into the bronchioles. On immunostaining of lung sections, JSRV-MA protein was …

Using Monte Carlo Simulation Approach, Estimation of Stochastic Frontier Production Function and Test of Parameters under Restricted Alternatives
Abstract: The stochastic frontier production function can be used to estimate the technical efficiencies among the firms when all the firms are not technically efficient. In most of the economic problems, prior information about the parameters is known in advance. That is, the sign of the parameters are known, which is also true for the Stochastic Frontier Production. We notice that the existing techniques of estimating the Stochastic Frontier Production Function …

Numerical Analysis of Oblique Impinge shock-wave/turbulent boundary-layer interaction Using Reynolds Average Navier Stroke Equations
Abstract: Interaction of shock waves with turbulent boundary layer plays an important role in the design and operability of high-speed aerospace vehicles and air-breathing engines. During interaction, the adverse pressure gradient of the shock is often strong enough to separate the boundary layer. Reynolds averaged Navier-Stokes simulations using conventional turbulence models do not predict the correct size and shape of the separation bubble in strong shock/turbulent boundary-layer interactions. The corresponding surface …
