Bioaccumulation Pattern of Heavy Metals in Saltmarsh Grass (Porteresia coarctata) of Indian Sundarbans
Abstract: Heavy metals (Zn, Cu and Pb) in saltmarsh grass tissue inhabiting Indian Sundarbans were studied during 2011–12. The selected heavy metals in the present study area originate from municipal and industrial sources. Samples from three different sites of deltaic Sundarbans were analyzed for selected heavy metals by AAS (atomic absorption spectrophotometer). The mean values of heavy metal concentrations were highest in Zn (68.17 ± 12.11 to 112.67 ± 30.17 in …

Future Refrigerator which Does Not Require Compressor
Abstract: It sounds crazy a refrigerator made from a rubber band. But if one stretches a rubber band and hold it against one's lips, it will be noticeably warmer. If it is released, it cools. This simple "elastocaloric" effect can transfer heat in much the same way as compressing and expanding a fluid refrigerant in a fridge or air conditioner. Now, researchers have created a version that not only stretches the …
