Isolation, Production and Purification of Antibiotics Isolation from Microbes from Soil
Abstract: A chemical compound acting against life is called antibiotics. The term “antibiotic” literally means “against life”. The term appeared as early as 1928 in the French microbiological literature as antibiosis. The phenomenon of antagonism between living organisms was frequently observed even since 1877, when Pasteur and Joubert noticed that aerobic bacteria antagonized the growth of Bacillus anthracis. However, the world in its present restrictive meaning, “a chemical substance derived from …

Signatures of Increasing Energy Demand of Past Two Decades as Captured in Rain Water Composition and Airmass Trajectory Analysis at Delhi (India)
Abstract: This study reports chemical characteristics of rain water in Delhi during monsoon (2010–11) with a comparison to earlier reported values of 1994. The results showed that non-marine sources had significant influence on rain water composition. The pH of the samples varied from 5.24 to 7.48 with an average value of 6.52 showing an alkaline nature of rain water. However, the dominance of NO3− over SO42− indicated higher influence of vehicular …

Future Refrigerator which Does Not Require Compressor
Abstract: It sounds crazy a refrigerator made from a rubber band. But if one stretches a rubber band and hold it against one's lips, it will be noticeably warmer. If it is released, it cools. This simple "elastocaloric" effect can transfer heat in much the same way as compressing and expanding a fluid refrigerant in a fridge or air conditioner. Now, researchers have created a version that not only stretches the …
