Crystalline and Polymeric Interactions in Multi- layered Bulletproof Glass: A Study of Ballistic Resistance and Structural Integrity
Abstract: Bulletproof glass is engineered to withstand high-impact projectiles, offering a critical line of defense in various industries such as banking, military, and armored vehicles. This study explores the structural composition, energy absorption mechanisms, and performance characteristics of bulletproof glass when exposed to ballistic threats. The glass consists of layered constructions, often involving polycarbonate and adhesive interfaces such as polyvinyl butyral, which enhance its energy absorption and resistance to projectiles. The …

Material-Level Degradation of Magnetorheological Fluids Under Long-Term Cyclic Shear
Abstract: The long-term functional stability of magnetorheological fluids (MRF) remains a key limitation for their reliable use in adaptive systems and continuously operated magnetorheological devices. In this study, the intrinsic evolution of rheological properties in a commercial MRF (MRC-C1L) is systematically examined under prolonged cyclic loading, with the aim of isolating material-level degradation mechanisms independent of device-related effects. The fluid was subjected to 120,000 low-strain oscillatory shear cycles under a constant …

Investigating The Synergistic Effects of Micro and Nano Particle Reinforcements in Powder Metallurgy-Processed Aluminum Metal Matrix Composites for Enhanced Mechanical Performance
Abstract: The ever-growing demands of modern mechanical applications necessitate the development of materials with superior mechanical properties. In this research, we delve into the creation and evaluation of Aluminum Metal Matrix Composites (Al MMCs) made via the powder metallurgy route, reinforced with both micro and Nano-scale particles. The key aim is to investigate the possible cooperative effects of this dual reinforcement approach on the mechanical behavior of the composite. Traditional aluminum …

Mechanical Performance Evaluation of Brachyuran Shell Particle-Infused S-Glass Fibre Epoxy Polymer Composites
Abstract: Epoxy composites bio-filled with brachyuran crab shell powder and reinforced with S-glass fibres at different loadings (2%, 4%, and 6%) are tested for their mechanical properties in this work. Using modest amounts of filler significantly improved hardness, ultimate tensile strength, and flexural strength in the empirical data. The largest increase in hardness was 64.42% at 4% filler, up from 26.22% at 2%; however, there was a dramatic decrease to 13.11% …

Study the Impact of Corrosive Pollutants on Building Materials Corrosion
Abstract: Reinforced concrete structures (RCS) may be made more resistant to corrosion by using fiber reinforced polymers (FRP). One of the primary concerns with reinforced concrete constructions is corrosion. It causes disintegration in building material components by interactions with salts, acids, and alkalis. Both within and outside of reinforced properties, pollutants and effluents accelerate disbanding. When bio-waste and building materials come into contact, microorganisms and macro organisms, grow and emit acid …
