Short Review on the Integration between Nanofluidics and Nanoelectromechanical Systems with an Experimental Demonstration on Microfluidics

  1. Subhadeep Mukhopadhyay

Abstract

In this short review, a brief idea is provided about the integration between nanofluidics and Nanoelectromechanical systems. Establishments of nanofluidic features are necessary to fabricate the fluidic microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) and fluidic Nanoelectromechanical systems (NEMS). Also, an experimental demonstration is provided on microfluidic flow phenomenon after fabrication of polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) based microchannel bend. Dyed ethylene glycol is prepared as working liquid. Effect of centrifugal force on surface-driven microfluidic flow of dyed ethylene glycol is studied. This work may be useful in bioengineering, biology and applied chemistry.
