LPG Conservation in Biscuit Industry-A Technical Modification of Oven
Abstract: Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE The paper is based on a technical modification of oven accompanied in a medium scale biscuit industry. A meaningfully large amount of heat is lost from various outlets of the indirect fired oven used for baking biscuits. A cost effective waste heat recovery scheme is suggested to conserve precious LPG. Since the fuel used is LPG and the saving potential is very …

Use of Fuzzy Logic Method for the Optimisation of the Wear Parameters of Aluminum Alloy
Abstract: In this paper, use of fuzzy logic in the Taghuchi method for the optimisation of the wear parameters of aluminum alloy is explained. An experiment was conducted on three alloys viz. Al-25Zn-2.5Cu-5SiC, Al-25Zn-2.5Cu-10SiC, Al-25Zn-2.5Cu-15SiC. Experiments were carried out on standard pin-on-disc machine, at ambient temperature and under dry operating condition. The three process parameters like sliding velocity, load and sliding distance were optimized. In the Taguchi method, L27 orthogonal array …

A Review on Effect of EDM Parametrs on Die Sinking EDM
Abstract: Electric discharge machining (EDM) is a nonconventional method of machining conductive and hard to machine materials and obtaining intricate shapes. It is a controlled method of melting and vaporizing the work piece by series of electric discharges between the tool and the work piece. In EDM there are a number of process parameters which must be selected sophisticatedly for obtaining reliable products thus optimization of EDM process parameters is important. …

Design Optimization of A Riveted Joint Used in Back Plate of A Pendulum Absorber Assembly
Abstract: Riveted joints are widely used for fastening sheet metal components. Cylindrical rivets are generally preferred but due to space constraints in some cases, other geometries are being explored. In this work, a practical case of a rectangular riveted assembly for back plate of pendulum absorber assembly commonly used in modern vehicles for damping secondary vibrations is considered and an iterative simulation study for design optimization has been conducted using finite …

Application of Fuzzy Logic Method for Optimisation of Spot Welding Parameters of Stainless Steel (AISI 304)
Abstract: Resistance spot welding process is used for joining stainless steel (AISI 304) sheets. An experiment was carried out to investigate the influence of welding parameters like current, weld time and electrode force on the Tensile-Shear (T-S) strength of the weld joint. Experiments based on Taguchi method are conducted in which three factors, three levels were used. Fuzzy logic based approach is used to predict output i.e. tensile shear strength. Keywords: Optimisation, …

SHEQ to Shake the Car Development for Tomorrow Part-I
Abstract: The car market has become the dictate of both the unavoidable human dependency cum status, and of the human affluence threatening the ecology and sustainability of earth system, safety and health on road, availability of fuel needed in the life expectancy of vehicle, and also journey. Keeping a balance between all of these requirements is intense and complicated. Resources like roads have been continuously shrunk, inspite that the replenishment has …
