Experimental Investigation of Mechaniccal and Thermal properties of Pmyra bract fiber composite
Abstract: Ecological concerns have resulted in renewed interest in natural materials in terms of their industrial applications and fundamental research. Recyclability and environmental safety are becoming increasingly important to the introduction of natural materials and products. Petroleum based products such as resins in thermo set plastics are toxic and non- biodegradable. The resins and fibres used in green composites are biodegradable when they are dumped, decomposed by the action of microorganisms. …

Operational Modelling and Analytical Analysis of Connecting Rod Using the Computer Aided Design
Abstract: The main objective of this study was to explore weight reduction opportunities for a production forged steel connecting rod. This has entailed performing a detailed load analysis. Therefore, this study has dealt with two subjects, first, static load stress analysis of the connecting rod, and second, optimization for weight. In this project, finite element analysis of single cylinder four stroke petrol engine is taken as a case study. Structural systems …

Incomplete Information and Expected Performance Characteristics of Heat Engines
Abstract: In this paper, a connection between Bayesian statistics and the optimal performance characteristics of thermodynamic heat cycles is proposed. In particular, the subjective ignorance about internal energy scales of the working medium, quantified as a prior distribution leads to an expected behaviour of heat cycles which shows some remarkable thermodynamic features. It is shown that efficiency at maximum work is closely related to Curzon-Ahlborn (CA) efficiency. This efficiency usually appears …

Design and Development of Bus Body Structure: A Critical Review
Abstract: Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 The aim of this review is to organize and evaluate literature about bus body design and analysis. Designed bus body and assembled it with chassis. Assembly of bus body structure and chassis is critical because two separate units of bus are firmly joined together with fix joints, another issue while assembling is that the bus body structure and components should sustain …

Free Vibration Analysis of A Symmetric and Anti-symmetric Laminated Composite Plate by using FEM
Abstract: In this paper free vibration analysis of symmetric and anti-symmetric laminated composite plate having different boundary conditions are analyzed. Boundary conditions are chosen as simply support and fully clamped. The effects of various parameters such as material properties, thickness ratio, aspect ratio, number of layers, and boundary conditions upon the natural frequencies are studied. The proposed model has been developed based on the finite element steps as in ANSYS and …

Stress Analysis of Pressurized Thick Truncated Conical Shells with varying Modulus of Elasticity as Power Function
Abstract: Finite element method is applied using Ansys 14.0 Mechanical APDL for axisymmetric thick walled truncated cone made of Functionally Graded Material (FGM). The cone has finite length, and is subjected to axisymmetric hydrostatic internal pressure. The material is assumed to be isotropic with constant poisson's ratio and radially continuously varying elastic modulus along the thickness with a power function. Using this method the truncated cone under generalized clamped-clamped conditions has …
