Experimental Set Up of Optical Tomography Probe and Visualization of Characteristics of a Taylor Bubble
Abstract: Abstract Conventional methods for the detection of bubbles uses probes which physically protrude into the flow field and thus may affect the flow dynamics, thereby tethering the formation, development and flow of bubbles. In thermal power plant, it is rather difficult to physically see which type of two phase flow is happening in the pipe. In such a case, an optical tomography sees its application. Depending upon the type of …

Experimental Studies on the Surface-Driven Capillary Flow of Ethanol in the Microfluidic Microchannel Bends
Abstract: Total 36 individual microfluidic devices are fabricated in this work. These microfluidic devices are fabricated by the maskless lithography, hot embossing lithography, direct bonding technique and indirect bonding technique. The surface-driven capillary flow of ethanol is faster in the microchannel of larger channel aspect ratio. The surface-driven capillary flow of ethanol is faster in the microchannel due to the applied centrifugal force. These experimental results are similar in both of …

Effect of Barrel Radius on the Billet in the Upsetting Process
Abstract: Upsetting is of significance for hypothetical and experimental studies in a metal forming procedure. The need of friction between the dies and the work piece leads to cylinder barreling and lateral expansion of the specimen is at extreme at equatorial section and least at the end. This work utilizes Taguchi method with the up gradation of the procedure parameter in charge of the non-uniform hardness distribution inside the tube shaped …
