A short review on scenario of Type 1 diabetes in Australia
Abstract: Type 1 diabetes (T1D) is caused by an autoimmune attack on pancreatic beta cells that leads to insulin deficiency. The incidence of T1D in Australia has doubled over the past 20 years. T1D treatment focuses on physiological insulin replacement, aiming for near-normal blood glucose levels. Morbidity and mortality result in hypoglycemia in T1D. Better results can be achieved by following some of the new technologies which includes insulin pumps, continuous …

Speech Profile of Myasthenia Gravis: Case Study
Abstract: Complex coordination in muscles of articulation was supported by number of separate neural events which is large and with an amazing degree of neural integration in motor system [1]. If any point along the pathway from the cerebrum to the muscle gets damage, then the motor system which controls the speech production may be spotted [1]. Difficulty in controlling the muscles responsible for speech is called Dysarthria. Mixed dysarthria, is …

Clinical Significance of Immune Cells and T-cell Subsets in Lung Cancer
Abstract: Objectives: The aim of the study was to determine the clinical usefulness of pretreatment hematological parameters including neutrophils, lymphocytes, monocytes and immune T-cell subsets as well as calculated coefficients such as neutrophils-to-lymphocytes ratio(NLR),monocytes-to-lymphocytes ratio(MLR) and platelets-to-lymphocyte ratio(PLR)in patients with lung cancer. Materials and Methods: A total of 102 patients with lung cancer were prospectively analyzed. T-cell subsets were assessed by flow cytometry method. Peripheral blood was collected from 25 healthy …

Ki-67, S-100, Calretinine and Reticulin Profile of Adrenal Lesions and Their Correlations with Standard Histological Criteria
Abstract: Histological diagnosis of adrenal lesions is difficult and needs multiple approaches. Histopathological examinations of 31 adrenal specimens were categorized following Weiss and Pass method and scorings were done. Immunohistochemical and special stains were also performed. In the present study, the 12 medullary cases included pheochromocytoma, neuroblastoma, ganglioneuroma, metastasis to adrenal tissue and metstatic pheochromocytoma.19 cortical cases included cortical hyperplasia, adenomas, carcinomas, myelolipomas and one case of cortical carcinoma. Weiss score …

Comparative Analysis of Ovarian Surface Epithelial Lesions with Corresponding Tubal Epithelial Changes with Reference to Ki67 and p53 Immunostains
Abstract: Ovarian surface epithelial cancers have high mortality due to late presentation. The ovarian surface epithelial tumours originate from fallopian tubal epithelium. Hence, ovarian surface epithelial tumours have good correlation with respect to genetic and immunohistological changes of fallopian tubes, especially fimbrial end epithelium. These changes are evident long before significant morphological changes in the ovaries appear. p53 and Ki67 are two important proliferative markers, and useful to evaluate ovarian surface …
