Anti-cancerous Activity of the Rhizome Extract of Alpinia galanga L. Willd. on the Human Liver Carcinoma Cells
Abstract: The rhizome of Alpinia galanga. L. (Willd). was collected from three places i.e, Udupi Shankara narayana temple surrounding area, Shringeri and Madikeri accessions. About 100 gms of the rhizome was taken, dried and powdered to obtain 1 gm of the extract through methanol as the solvent. 1 gm of the solid extract was subjected for filteration through millipore syringe filter., to this about 6ml of cell based assay buffer and …

Hairy Root Culture for Mass Production of Medicinal Important Compound Neoandrographolide from Andrographis lobelioides Nees
Abstract: AbstractThe present study was focused to develop hairy root culture of Andrographis lobelioides for the production of Neoandrographolide using Agrobacterium rhizogenes (8196), strains for leaf and root explants. The results indicated that the leaf and root explants induced hairy roots formation and enhanced secondary metabolites Neoandrographolide and related compounds. The medium was supplemented with half strength liquid MS medium with 2.0 μM/l Indole butyric acid (IBA). The highest percentage of …

Microplastics and its Impact on Oceanic Environment
Abstract: Continuous increase in plastic consumption and poor management in dealing with its waste has led us to dispose huge amount of wastes into aquatic systems. Microplastics are the one with a size less than 5 mm; there are many ways in which microplastics can be generated. Microplastics can cause severe health issues to aquatic life through mechanisms such as entanglement and ingestion. This paper present study of documents examined on …

In vitro Antibacterial Activity of Averrhoa carambola Leaf Extracts
Abstract: The aim of the present study was to determine the phytochemical constituents and antimicrobial potential of Averrhoa carambola leaf extracts against three gram-positive bacteria (Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus mutans) and three gram-negative bacteria (Klebsiella pneumoniae, Proteus vulgaris and Pseudomonas aeruginosa) which are some of the infectious bacteria. The A.carambola leaves were extracted in three different solvents of increasing polarities (hexane, ethyl acetate, and acetone). The phytochemical analysis showed …

Coriander Seed Extract Enhances the Yield of T2 Bacteriophage in E. coli by Stimulating Adenylate Cyclase
Abstract: Coriander has been shown to have antibacterial activity in vitro. Relatively low concentrations of coriander seed extract added to LB broth have no effect on the growth of Escherichia coli. The addition of coriander seed extract to E. coli cultures growing in LB broth at a concentration of 0.012% enhanced the yield of T2 bacteriophage up to 225% of the control. Varying the length of time the extract was present …
