Evaluation of Mechanical Properties of Hybrid Fibers in Concrete
Abstract: Engineering Cementitious Composites (ECC) is an advanced growing method to increase the longevity of the structure in all behaviour aspects. ECC consist of cement, fine aggregate, fiber and water.High performance, ductility and durability of cementitious matrix can be achieved by addition of fiber. Nowadays, the member of fibers play a vital role to increase the overall structural behaviour of concrete matrix. In that, synthetic-based fibers are used in various applications. …

Strength and Durability Characteristics of Fiber Modified Asphaltic Bitumen
Abstract: Flexible pavements with bituminous surfacing are widely used in India. Exponential increase in traffic, overloading of commercial vehicles and significant variations in daily and seasonal temperatures have shown some limitations of conventional bitumen performance. Earlydevelopments of distress symptoms like cracking, rutting, raveling, undulations, shoving and potholing of bituminous surfacing have been reported for flexible pavements. Toenhance the properties of road, bitumen is modified by the addition of some waste materials. …

Effect of Fiber Addition in Geopolymer Concrete: A Study on Comparison betweenNatural and Artificial Fibers
Abstract: Geopolymer concrete is an inorganic polymer concrete, containing no ordinary Portland cement (OPC). It is produced by reacting alumino-silicate source material with alkaline solution. Geopolymer concrete has highly desirable structural engineering properties, which can lead to significant environmental and economic benefits. Fibers in general and polypropylene (PP) fibers in particular have gained popularity in recent years for use in concrete, mainly owing to their low price and excellent characteristics. Alkalineliquids …

Experimental Investigation of SCC Using Glass Fiber
Abstract: An attempt is made to study the effect of glass fiber impregnation in self-compacting concrete; glass fiber which may aggregate together is added as reinforcing agent. Glass fiber was added in concrete 0.25, 0.5 and 1% by weight of cement. The fine aggregate is replaced with manufactured sand (M sand) in various percentages. Glass fiber added increased the compressive strength to considerable value and also it is found that the …

Experimental Investigation of Self-Compacting Concrete Using Coir Fiber
Abstract: Concrete is the construction material widely used throughout the world. Construction materials used in the industry should be friendly with the environment during their usage. Self-compacting concrete (SCC) is an innovative concrete that does not require vibration for placing and compaction. It is able to flow under its own weight, completely filling formwork and achieving full compaction, even in the presence of congested reinforcement. The hardened concrete is dense, homogenous …
