Development of a Steady State Temperature Distribution Code (STD 1.0) for Predicting Thermal-Hydraulics Parameters of MNSR
Abstract: A steady-state temperature distribution code has been developed using Visual Basic 6.0 programming language for the estimation of steady-state temperature distribution in an averaged fuel element of Miniature Neutron Source Reactor. The STD 1.0 code is composed of three parts: Main Menu Window which shows the title of the code, picture of the Nigeria Research Reactor-1 in operation and the link to the other two windows; Radial Temperature Distribution Window, …

Non-destructive Application of Tracer Isotopes to Study the Kinetics of Iodide and Bromide Ion-isotopic Exchange Reactions in Anion Exchange Resins Indion-103 and Duolite A-611
Abstract: The present study is concerned with non-destructive application of radio-analytical technique for characterization of industrial grade ion exchange resins Indion-103 and Duolite A-611. The radioactive tracer isotopes 131I and 82Br were used to trace the kinetics of iodide and bromide ion-isotopic exchange reactions taking place in the two resins. It was observed that during bromide and iodide ion-isotopic exchange reactions, under identical experimental conditions of temperature remaining constant at 40 …

Pressure Swing Adsorption Technique for Separation and Containment of Argon-41
Abstract: Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 Air is used as a coolant in several nuclear facilities especially in the Pressurized Heavy Water Reactors (PHWRs). When air interacts with the neutron field, the Argon-40 present (0.93%) in the air gets neutron-activated to form Argon-41which is a beta and gamma emitter, with a half-life period of 1.83 h. Argon-41 is a major radioactive effluent in nuclear reactors accounting for a larger percentage …
