Hydrogen from Alkaline Water Electrolysis: A Case Study on Process Economics of Decentralized Production in the Present Indian Scenario
Abstract: Distributed or decentralized hydrogen production by alkaline water electrolysis and use of renewable energy resources to obtain at least a part of the electricity necessary for it can be a truly sustainable scheme that will enable several categories of hydrogen users to reduce their carbon footprint significantly in the near future. The process economics of producing hydrogen through electrolysis, with focus on the production cost per unit of hydrogen in …

Short Communication: Enhanced Biological Phosphorus Removal
Abstract: Squander water treatment is basic as it postures risk to nature. It conveys a considerable measure of contaminants and microorganism that cannot be let into the environment without treatment. Phosphate is one such component. This study examines and focuses on sewage treatment by enhanced organic phosphorus evacuation (EBPR) for the expulsion of phosphate. The modern waste for the most part contains phosphate. The basic methods of biochemistry, microbiology and concoction …

Experimental Studies on the Capillary Flow Phenomena in Polyimide Based Glass Microfluidic Devices
Abstract: The polyimide based glass microfluidic devices are fabricated using the maskless lithography. Water is the only working liquid in this work. The effects of micropillar side length, microfluidic friction and surface area to volume ratio on the surface-driven capillary flow of water are studied experimentally. The surface-driven capillary flow of water is slower due to higher microfluidic friction. This work will be useful to control the water inside the microfluidic …

Numerical and Experimental Investigation on I-type Damage Evolution in Glass Fiber Reinforced Laminates Subjected to Quasi Static Loading
Abstract: Glass fiber reinforced polymer composites has become more popular material used in aerospace and marine structural applications due to their specific strength and anti-corrosion properties. The present work discusses the numerical and experimental investigation on I-type damage evaluation in glass fiber reinforced laminates under quasi-static loading is presented. Three volume fraction of glass and resin (40/60, 50/50 and 60/40) plies were selected for both numerical and experimental damage analysis. The …

Production and Characterisation of Bio-ethanol from Sweet Sorghum Juice
Abstract: Sweet sorghum stalks obtained from local market in Zamfara State were evaluated for bioethanol production. The process is considered to be economically feasible considering the percentage yield of sweet sorghum juice obtained from the stalks which was eventually converted to bio-ethanol through fermentation and distillation. The bio-ethanol obtained in the process was analyzed and the properties are compared with the standard specifications set by Standard Organisation of Nigeria (SON). Most …
