Surface-Driven Capillary Flow of AqueousIsopropyl Alcohol in the Sudden Expansion PMMA Microchannels
Abstract: Author has fabricated the PMMA sudden expansion microchannels by the maskless lithography, hot embossing lithography, drilling, direct bonding and chip separation technique. The effect of channel aspect ratio on the surface-driven capillary flow is studied in the sudden expansion microchannels fabricated by PMMA as a polymeric material. Also, the effect of surface wettability on the surface-driven capillary flow is studied in the sudden expansion microchannels fabricated by PMMA. This study …

Thermally Stimulated Luminescence and Electron Spin Resonance Study of Gamma Irradiated Poly Carbonate
Abstract: Polycarbonate (PC) is an industrially important polymer. Gamma irradiation effects of PC are investigated by thermally stimulated luminescence (TSL) and electron spin resonance (ESR) techniques. The TSL spectra of irradiated PC have shown two glow peaks, around 149oC (422 K) and 165oC (438 K). The observed glow peaks are analysed by initial rise methods, Chen’s method and modified initial rise method. The trap parameters corresponding to the two glow peaks …

Recording of Leakage-free Surface-Driven Capillary Flow of Dyed Water in the Dual Sudden Contraction Microchannels
Abstract: Dual sudden contractionpolymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) microchannels are fabricated by the maskless lithography, hot embossing lithography, direct bonding technique, and atmospheric pressure air dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) plasma processing. The surface-driven capillary flow of dyed water is faster on the processed PMMA surface than the pristine PMMA surface. The surface-driven capillary flow of dyed water is slower in the wider portion and faster in the narrower portion of any dual sudden contraction …

Biosorption of Fluoride from Aqueous Solution Using Ulva fasciata sp.: A Marine Green Algae
Abstract: Water is a useful and vital natural resource for sustaining life and environment that we have always thought to be available in abundance and free gift of nature. Enhanced industrial activity during recent decades has led to the discharge of unprecedented volumes of industrial waste water, which is a serious cause of environmental degradation. Excessive fluoride concentrations have been reported in ground waters of more than 20 developed and developing …

Assessment of a Wind Energy Conversion System for Sustainable Hydrogen Production by Alkaline Water Electrolysis in India: Effect of Geographical Location and Wind Turbine Type
Abstract: The use of wind energy for electricity generation and use of this electricity for hydrogen production by alkaline water electrolysis promises to be a truly sustainable scheme for the postulated hydrogen economy. This work addresses the feasibility assessment of a standalone wind energy based turbine generator system that meets the energy requirements of the electrolysis process at several locations in India. Energy requirement for electrolysis depends on the hydrogen production …
