Abstract

Individuals outside the manufacturing industry may not be familiar with the remarkable characteristics of composite materials, which include an excellent strength-to-weight ratio, durability, and versatility. Composites lie at the crossroads of the automotive sector particularly in the electric vehicles (EVs). Much as this paper sought to discuss composites rich contribution to the EV technology, this paper deems it useful in the context of light weighting, battery and housing, and the incorporation of advanced manufacturing systems. Sustainability is achieved by advancing EV performance through weight savings through the use of composites that ultimately increases energy efficiency and range in the vehicle. They also participate in battery housing which provides protection and thermal regulation that leads to the safety and durability of batteries. Also, the innovations of the manufacturing processes like AFP- Automated Fiber Placement and RTM-Resin transfer molding are contributing towards the use of composites in electric vehicle more effectively. In this paper, focusing on recent developments and examples of specific examples of practical application, it is shown how innovations with the use of composite materials in EVs are taking place at the present stage of their development for the purpose of increasing performance, protection, and eco-friendliness. The latest innovations at electric transportation provide the need for composites cemented in the future of sustainable technologies.
