Abstract

Background: Micro replication techniques like HE allows for the large-scale manufacturing of the micro components which use polymers like Polymethyle methacrylate, Polycarbonate, polystyrene as the work material. In the hot embossing process, key parameters include applied pressure, temperature during heating, duration of embossing, and temperature during demolding. Research Objectives: Developing straightforward and affordable methods to produce the micro featured molds needed for the hot embossing is a significant research goal. Fresnel lenses, made up of concentric ringed facets, are important compact optical elements with advantages over traditional spherical and aspherical lenses, including thinner form factors and using less material. Significance of the Study: Generally, Fresnel lens fabrication falls into two main categories: subtractive methods and precision methods for forming similar moulding and embossing. For mass manufacturing the latter are frequently employed, employing molds created through subtractive processes. This review summarizes research on hot embossing of Fresnel lenses, aiming to provide a consolidated information source for new researchers entering this field. It offers an overview of work already done in Fresnel lens hot embossing fabrication. Scope and Organization: Following this introduction and overview, Application of Micro Fresnel Lens, Summary of previous works done on fabrication Fresnel Lens in a table form, Possible defects in embossed Fresnel lenses after Micro Hot Embossing with Conclusion.
