Synthesis and Characterization of Graphene-Based Hydroxyapatite Using Hydrothermal Method for Its Biomedical Application
Abstract: Developing bone implant materials that combine biological compatibility with mechanical strength remains a major challenge in orthopedic research. Hydroxyapatite (HAp) closely mimics bone mineral and supports cell growth, but its brittleness limits load-bearing applications. To address this, a quaternary nanocomposite of hydroxyapatite (HAp), graphene (Gr), zirconia (ZrO2), and ferrocene (Fc) (Hap-Gr-ZrO₂-Fc) was synthesized through a one-step hydrothermal process. Graphene and zirconia provided reinforcement, while ferrocene contributed structural stability and carbon …

Gelatin-EiO2 (Ei = Si/Ti/Zr) Based Mesoporous Nano-hybrids: Synthesis and Characterization
Abstract: The hybrid materials are mostly prepared by combining the organic or bio-organic part to the inorganic building blocks and are used in many applications. Gelatin as one of the main component of hybrid materials is an attractive option. It is biodegradable; biocompatible; non-toxic; bio-adhesive and contains many active groups such as –NH2, –COOH, in the biopolymer backbone makes these hybrid materials important in various technological applications. The synthesis of a …

Investigation of Microstructural and Tensile behaviour of stir-casted Al5052-based Composites with nano-reinforcements
Abstract: Aluminium-based composites have gained popularity in the aviation, automotive, and marine sectors as a result of their exceptional strength-to-weight ratio and also due to resistance to wear and corrosion. The current investigation involves the examination of the microstructural and tensile behaviour of stir-casted Al5052-based composites. The nanoparticles of 1% titanium diboride and 1% zirconia were added as reinforcement materials. To better understand the microstructure of the composite specimens, scanning electron …
