Abstract: Polysaccharide-based hydrogels have showed great potential in medicine as materials for long-lasting, under control medication delivery systems. Natural polysaccharides include chitosan; alginate, agarose, and cellulose form these hydrogels. Among its many advantages are biocompatibility, biodegradability, and customising ability for various drug release rates.
