Influence of Infill Density on Structural Performance of FDM-Processed PET-G Polymer: Experimental Validation through Quadcopter Flight Testing
Abstract: Polyethylene terephthalate glycol-modified (PET-G) is an amorphous thermoplastic copolymer increasingly adopted in structural applications through fused deposition modeling (FDM). However, the correlation between FDM processing parameters, especially infill density, and mechanical performance of PET-G parts remains inadequately characterized under real-life loading conditions. This study investigates how infill density (10% and 30%, grid pattern) influences the structural integrity of FDM-processed PET-G components, validated experimentally through quadcopter airframe fabrication and flight testing. …

Structure–Property Correlation of Infill Topology and Density on Tensile and Flexural Performance of FDM-Printed PLA and ABS
Abstract: Additive Manufacturing (AM), particularly Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM), has become a widely adopted manufacturing technology due to its design flexibility, low cost, and capability for rapid prototyping. However, the mechanical performance of FDM-printed components is strongly influenced by internal structural parameters such as infill pattern and infill density, in addition to the intrinsic material behaviour. This study investigates the structure–property relationship between infill topology, density, and mechanical performance of PLA …

Effect of Process Variables on the Mechanical Characteristics of form Fabricated Materials
Abstract: Additive manufacturing prominent rapidly advancing technologies for producing 3D-printed products. Initially developed by stratasys, FDM technology emerged during the 1980s. This additive manufacturing technique builds products by extruding semi-molten material through a nozzle onto a platform. PLA and ABS are among numerous thermoplastics that are commonly used as filaments in this procedure. Purpose of research was to observe the effect of variables such as infill percentage, bed temperature, printing speed …

Investigating the Combined Effect of FDM 3D Printing Parameters on Tensile Behavior of ABS Plastic Using Taguchi Method.
Abstract: Fused Deposition Modelling (FDM) is a commonly utilized method in additive manufacturing. FDM is greatly affected by its printing parameters, which is why selecting the proper parameters is crucial for obtaining the desired properties of 3D printed parts. In this paper we have experimentally and statistically studied the influence of FDM 3D printing parameters (infill pattern, infill density and layer thickness) on tensile strength using Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) filament. …

Evaluation of Mechanical Properties of Carbon Reinforced Composite for Different Process Parameters Using FDM
Abstract: Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) stands as an advanced rapid prototyping technique, widely appreciated for its efficiency in constructing functional components within a reasonable timeframe. In this experimental exploration, a comparative analysis of mechanical properties was conducted on components manufactured through the FDM technique, specifically with a 20% concentration of SCF-PLA. The study considered process variables like layer thickness, infill pattern, and infill density. Employing diverse process parameters, a standard sample …
