Study of Contact Temperature During Polishing of Zinc Plate with Ultrasonic Vibration Using Single Pole Magnetic Abrasive Finishing
Abstract: The present work scrutinizes the impact of ultrasonic vibration on the contact temperature during polishing zinc plates with Single Pole Magnetic Abrasive Finishing (SPMAF). The efficacy and eminence of FMAB finishing are pointedly influenced by heat generation at the interaction point, as raised up temperatures can lead to the deprivation of abrasive elements or the bonding material inside the brush, which leads to the fading its overall effectiveness. The magnetic …

Experimental Investigation into Surface Roughness of Polished Zinc Plate with Ultrasonic Vibration Using Single Pole Magnetic Abrasive Finishing
Abstract: This research investigates how applying ultrasonic vibrations influences the surface finish quality of zinc plates when using the Single Pole Magnetic Abrasive Finishing (SP-MAF) method. In SP-MAF, magnetic abrasive particles (MAPs)—amalgamation of ferromagnetic and abrasive materials—are guided by a magnetic field to achieve precise surface finishing. Introducing ultrasonic vibration improves the effectiveness of the flexible magnetic abrasive brush (FMAB), which forms as the MAPs align along the magnetic field lines. …

Thermal Interaction Analysis Between Flexible Magnetic Abrasive Brush and Aluminium Alloy During Single-Pole MAF
Abstract: Magnetic Abrasive Finishing (MAF) is a precision surface‐finishing approach that employs magnetic abrasive particles (MAPs) within a managed magnetic field to eliminate micro-level material and enhance surface condition. In the finishing process, the friction created between the workpiece and the flexible magnetic abrasive brush (FMAB) leads to heat accumulation, which may badly affect the surface integrity. This study focuses on investigating the temperature distribution at the FMAB–workpiece interface to decrease …

Experimental Investigation into MRR of Polished Zinc Plate with Ultrasonic Vibrations Using Single Pole Magnetic Abrasive Finishing Process
Abstract: The present research examines the material removal rate (MRR) in finishing zinc plates on the experimental framework called Single Pole Magnetic Abrasive Finishing Process (SPMAFP) by inducing ultrasonic vibrations. By means of a Flexible Magnetic Abrasive Brush (FMAB) composed of 40% alumina and 60% iron elements, the investigation estimates the effect of key process parameters on surface finishing excellence. An L-16 factorial study design was applied to examine the FMAB …

Study of pH Behaviour of Slurry on Surface Morphology of Copper Material with Single Pole Magnetic Abrasive Finishing Process
Abstract: The chemical oxidizers—sodium hydroxide, Marshall’s acid salt, and hydrogen peroxide—were effectively employed in the wet polishing of copper using the SPMAF experimental setup. The manuscript explores preparation of slurry used for polishing copper material using single pole magnetic abrasive finishing (SPMAF) framework. The slurry contains distilled water, 1200-grit aluminum oxide abrasives, sodium hydroxide (NaOH), potassium persulfate (K₂S₂O₈), and hydrogen peroxide (H₂O₂), combined in precise amount. Specifically, 100 ml of distilled …
