Performance of Cr3C2-25(Ni-20Cr) and Ni-20Cr Coatings on T22 Boiler Tube Steel in Simulated Boiler Environment
Abstract: Corrosion of metals is a dangerous process, due to which there is loss of metal by the attack of corrosive agents. The high temperature corrosion causes fast material degradation which results in failure of components. Boiler tubes in the thermal power plants are subjected to corrosion due to high temperatures. Thermal spray coatings have been used to reduce the corrosion of boiler tubes. In this research paper an attempt has …

Performance of Ni3Al and TiO2 Coatings on T91 Boiler Tube Steel in Simulated Boiler Environment at 900°C
Abstract: Boiler steel tube corrosion in coal fired boiler is main subject during design and operation of thermal power plant and it leads to both direct and indirect loss of cost and energy, including losses due to plant shut down time and inefficiency of operation. One of the feasible solutions to solve out this problem is providing surface coating on boiler steel tube, which on one hand protects the tube from …

Oxidation Behaviour of Plasma Sprayed Carbon Nanotubes-Alumina Coated ASME-SA213-T291 Boiler Tube Steel
Abstract: In this research work, oxidation behaviour of Carbon Nanotubes reinforced Al2O3 coated ASME-SA213-T91 boiler tube steel specimens were investigated at 900°C temperature in air. The different CNTs-Alumina composite coatings were deposited using plasma spray technique and NiCr was used as bond coat before applying CNTs-Al2O3 coatings. The hot corrosion studies were conducted on all coated specimens in air at 900°C under cyclic conditions. The thermogravimetric technique was used to establish …

Characterisation of Plasma Sprayed CNT-Alumina Composite Coatings on Boiler Tube Steel
Abstract: In this research work, the 1.5, 2 and 4 wt.% CNTs-Al2O3 coatings were prepared and successfully deposited on T22 boiler tube steel using plasma spray process. Ni-Cr was also used as bond coat before applying CNTs-Al2O3 coatings. The coatings were subjected to metallography, XRD and SEM/EDAX analysis. The porosity of CNTs-Al2O3 mixed coatings on T22 boiler steel was found to be decreasing with increase in CNTs content. The CNTs were …
