Abstract

The need for wireless technology that employs Radio Frequency (RF) is increasing dramatically in today's world. These resources will soon become overloaded because of the RF spectrum's constrained bandwidth. Using the visible light spectrum is one way to address the radio frequency spectrum issue. A research area called Light-Fidelity (Li-Fi) makes advantage of the Visible Light Communication visible light band (VLC). This article describes the VLC investigation, the design process, and the testing of a VLC prototype using a UART (Universal Asynchronous Receiver/Transmitter) module. The design approach uses a Python-written serial communication tool named pySerial to convert file data into a stream of bits that can be transmitted via LED. The prototype is straightforward inexpensive and gives other scholars a firm foundation on which to build future studies. This prototype adequately illustrates the VLC idea. Also, it successfully illustrates the viability of creating codes in Python, the appropriate electronic components utilised to interpret bit-wise data signals, and the benefits of serial connection for data transfer. VLC is extensively used in indoor, underwater, and hospital communication where radio waves generate magnetic interference.
