Energy harnessing solution using a vertical axis wind turbine installed on the automotive rooftop.
Abstract: The transportation sector plays a major role in greenhouse gas emissions, prompting worldwide initiatives to mitigate its environmental effects. While the shift from internal combustion engines to electric vehicles is growing, it often merely shifts emissions rather than eliminating them, as fossil fuels continue to dominate energy production. A comprehensive solution requires universal access to renewable energy sources like wind, solar, and hydro power, which is currently impractical due to …

Effect of Leading-Edge Roughness on the Aerodynamic Characteristics of the Wind Turbine blade
Abstract: Leading-Edge Roughness (LER) strongly dictates boundary layer transition and performance degradation on an airfoil operating at transitional Reynolds numbers, an aerodynamic regime where shear-layer stability mechanisms remain highly complex. The wind tunnel experiments were conducted to investigate the aerodynamic impacts of surface roughness applied over 25% of the chord of a NACA 0018 airfoil using two discrete roughness gradations. Surface roughness induces an early boundary layer trip, causing elevated section …

Design And Analysis of Carbon Filler Reinforced Composite Small Wind Turbine Blades
Abstract: Although wind turbines have great potential for capturing wind energy, their blades suffer from unstable aerodynamic loads as a result of operating for extended time in challenging conditions. Both structural and aerodynamic performance are negatively impacted by these loads. The effectiveness of the wind turbine and the use of wind energy are significantly impacted by the choice airfoil. Commonly used airfoils include NACA 4412, NACA 23012, and SG6043. The lift …

Experimental analysis of wind turbine blade (HAWT) with recycled carpet waste polymer composite material
Abstract: The term "carpet" is often used interchangeably with "rug," but there is a technical distinction. Rugs are generally smaller and can be easily moved, while carpets are typically larger and cover a significant portion of the floor. Carpets are commonly used to enhance the comfort of indoor spaces, provide insulation, and contribute to the overall design and atmosphere of a room. Polymer composite materials also known as polymer matrix composites …
