The climate change analysis on water resources over western Ghat by deficit calculation method
Abstract: The objective of this work is to study the extreme hydrological events and climate change impact on water resources over western Ghat. The western ghat is spread over the area 140 thousand square kilometers and 2600 meter of average elevation. The 1600 Km long western ghat is biodiversity hotspot and home of different species it also forms the catchment which drains over one-third of India. To analyze the extreme hydrological …

Heavy Metal Analysis in Soil: A Case Study through the Noyyal River, Tirupur
Abstract: Noyyal River is a tributary of Cauvery River which rises from Vellingiri hills in Western Ghats, Tamilnadu South eastern India and drains in to Cauvery River. The river flows through four states, Coimbatore, Tirupur, Karur and Erode in western Tamilnadu. Till the river reaches Tirupur, the pollution concentration is considerably low. But in the Tirupur area the rate becomes substantially high due to the textile effluent discharge and sustains downstream …

Elemental Mobility and Provenance in Sediments: A Geochemical Study of Deccan Basalts, Bay of Bengal, and Northern China
Abstract: Twenty-eight sediment samples from seventeen rivers, including the Krishna headwaters and the west-flowing Western Ghat rivers, draining the Deccan Trap basalts, were analyzed for major elements (Na, Ca, Mg, K, Al, Ti, Fe) and trace elements (Sr, Ba, Mn, P, V, Cr, Ni, Cu, and Zn). The mobility of these elements, especially Na, Ca, Mg, and Sr, was assessed by comparing their abundances in sediments and dissolved phases. Approximately 60% …

Geochemistry and Clay Mineralogy of Weathering and Soil Profiles, Malappuram District, Northern Kerala, India: Its Implications on Paleoclimate
Abstract: The present investigation chiefly concerns with the geochemical and clay mineralogical studies on two weathering and soil profiles at Pathirappadam and Ernadampadam in Nilambur valley, Malappuram district, Kerala. We attempt to understand the mobility of elements, weathering paths, and the common weathering products of gneissic rocks weathering on the western flanks of the Western Ghats. Our results indicate the depletion of Na, K, Ca, Mg and enrichment of Al and …

Validating the Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment (GRACE) terrestrial water storage dataset using Terra MODIS NDVI anomaly.
Abstract: The Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment (GRACE) is the advance tool for mapping the changes in the gravitation field of the earth. The satellite launches in 2002 and the follow off mission is in 2016. The gravitational changes of the earth are downscaled into the changes in the mass with the different algorithm by three institutions. Further the mass anomaly is converted into the equivalent water thickness of the terrestrial …
