Phase Noise Reduction in WLAN by Applying Wavelet Packet Multiplexing

By Govinda Raju M., Uma B. V.

Abstract: The IEEE 802.11 standards for wireless Local Area Networks (LANs) commercialized as Wi-Fi are deployed in office and home environments. These systems provide data rates up to 1300 Mbps at 5 GHz and 400 Mbps at 2.4 GHz with physical layer based on OFDM and MIMOOFDM. Traditionally, multiplexing in OFDM is realized using static orthogonal waveforms derived from Fourier transforms. The decoding of the data at receiver is based on …

Partial View-Based Object Recognition using Leave-one-out Approach with Classification and Regression Trees

By S.M. Mohidul Islam, Farhana Tazmim Pinki

Abstract: Object recognition from image is an intriguing task in computer vision. It is simple for human being but complex for machine because of complex background, lightening, different viewing angle, size etc. So, a typically automatic and robust system is required to recognize object. In this paper, a content-based object recognition system using only one view of the object: top view, front view, back view, side view, and also using combination …

Low-Complexity VLSI Hardware Design for DWPT

By Vikas Tiwari, B. K. Mohanty

Abstract: AbstractThis paper presents a low-complex discrete wavelet packet transform (DWPT) architecture design for power constrained and cost sensitive healthcare applications. The multiplier-adder unit of the proposed multiplier-based designs of DWPT is replaced by the shift-add unit to reduce the area complexity of parallel structure. The proposed low-complexity multiplier-less design could be used an alternative to the existing multiplier-based design for hardware efficient realization of multi-level DWPT.Keywords: DWPT, Hardware complexity, VLSI, …
