Nutrition Induced Gut Microbiota Modulation in Food Animals: Implications for Viral Susceptibility, Shedding and Transmission Dynamics for Sustainable Development
Abstract: The gut microbiota has emerged as a central mediator linking host nutrition, immune competence, and vulnerability to viral pathogens in food animals. Diet is a primary driver of microbial community structure and function, influencing metabolite production, intestinal barrier integrity, and systemic antiviral immunity. Accumulating evidence indicates that nutrition induced modulation of the gut microbiota can substantially alter viral susceptibility, replication, and shedding patterns, with downstream effects on transmission dynamics within …

The Emergence of Coxsackievirus A16 Associated with HFMD Colloquially Termed ‘Tomato Flu’ in India 2022: A Detailed Virological Inspection
Abstract: As the world battles the COVID-19 pandemic and grapples with a concerning spike in monkeypox cases, India has encountered another viral illness dubbed "Tomato Flu." Tomato Flu is a viral disease caused by coxsackievirus A16, which is a highly infectious illness affecting children under 10 years old.. Enterovirus A71, CV-A16, CVA6, and echoviruses are the causes of what is also referred to as hand, foot, and mouth disease (HFMD). The …

A Comprehensive Review on Monkeypox Infection
Abstract: Monkeypox represents a zoonotic viral affliction instigated by the monkeypox virus, which is classified within the Poxviridae family and is distinct from the virus that causes chickenpox. Initially recognized in 1958, this infection has recently attracted international scrutiny due to its escalating incidence beyond traditional endemic territories. This review delivers an exhaustive examination of monkeypox, encompassing its epidemiology, viral morphology, modes of transmission, pathogenesis, clinical presentations, and therapeutic interventions. The …

Viral Chronicles: The Ever-Evolving Saga of COVID-19
Abstract: Coronaviruses, belonging to the family of RNA viruses, have recently captured global attention owing to their remarkable ability to infect a diverse array of species, ranging from animals to humans. These viral agents, recognized by their characteristic crown-like morphology when observed through electron microscopy, have a historical association with zoonotic diseases. Previous examples include Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus (SARS-CoV) and Middle East Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus (MERS-CoV). The term "Corona" …

A Decade of Viral Evolution (2015–2025): Emergence, Mutations, and Implications for Global Health
Abstract: Over the past decade (2015-2025), viral evolution has profoundly reshaped the global health landscape, challenging healthcare systems, diagnostic tools, therapeutic strategies, and vaccine efficacy. This review comprehensively analyzes the evolutionary trajectories of major human and zoonotic viruses, with a focus on pandemic-prone, drug-resistant, and emerging pathogens. Viral evolution is driven by diverse molecular mechanisms including high mutation rates, recombination, reassortment, host immune pressure, and antiviral interventions, leading to genetic diversification, …

A Comprehensive Review on COVID-19 Evolution and Development
Abstract: The emerging pandemic causing flu-like symptoms in patients is caused by the novel Coronavirus that was previously called 2019-nCoV. The mutated gene of SARS-CoV was transformed to SARS-CoV-2 in animals and further transmitted to humans in the month of December 2019 in Wuhan city of China. Eventually, the novel coronavirus spread all around the globe as a highly contagious disease. COVID-19 (the illness caused by coronavirus) has affected 213 countries …

A Review on Evolution of Medicine After and During Corona
Abstract: As of the beginning of 2023, 6.7 million people had perished from COVID-19, according to the World Health Organization. However, there have also been some positive developments, such as the notable decline in influenza-related deaths in the first year of the pandemic as a result of masking and social isolation, as well as the quick adoption of vaccines utilizing cutting-edge technologies like mRNA vaccines, which hold out great promise for …

Monkeypox Virus (MPXV): Epidemiology, Pathogenesis, and Control Strategies: Exploring the Recent Resurgence of Monkeypox, Its Transmission Dynamics, Clinical Manifestations, and Public Health Responses
Abstract: Monkeypox virus (MPXV) has re-emerged as a significant public health concern, with increasing cases reported worldwide. This zoonotic virus, primarily endemic to Central and West Africa, has demonstrated the potential for human-to-human transmission, leading to outbreaks in non-endemic regions. Unlike smallpox, which was eradicated through mass vaccination, monkeypox continues to persist due to the lack of widespread immunity and effective antiviral treatments. The resurgence of MPXV in recent years, particularly …

CRISPR, Recombinant DNA, and LAMP-Based Platforms for Monkeypox: Emerging Tools for Diagnosis and Therapeutic Development
Abstract: Monkeypox, a zoonotic viral infection caused by the Monkeypox virus of the Orthopoxvirus genus, has recurred as a worldwide public health concern after recent outbreaks outside of its classical endemic areas in Central and West Africa. The resurgence has demanded a thorough reassessment of its epidemiology, mode of transmission, and clinical presentation. In light of these challenges, recombinant DNA technology (rDNA) has emerged as a candidate for developing vaccines, diagnostics, …

Unlocking Novel Drug Targets and Therapeutic Advancements Against RNA Viruses: Insights from HMPV and SARS-CoV-2
Abstract: Re-emerging RNA viruses pose a significant epidemiological welfare threat due to their high mutation rates, potential for zoonotic transmission, and capacity to cause widespread outbreaks such as Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV), Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), Influenza, etc. The rapid evolution and re-emergence of these viruses necessitate the development of novel drug targets and therapeutic strategies to combat existing and future outbreaks. This study focuses on structural as well …

Rodents and Zoonotic Diseases: Environmental Drivers and Prevention Measures
Abstract: Among the most ubiquitous animal species, rats spread several human diseases. Found in cities, rural areas, and everywhere in between, rats have adapted remarkably well to living alongside people. Unfortunately, this close contact makes it easier for them to carry and pass on harmful germs. Their biology, fast breeding, and ability to host various bacteria, viruses, and parasites often without getting sick themselves make them especially effective at spreading disease. This …
