Isolation and Characterization of Glucuronide Compound from Luffa Tuberosa (Roxb.) for Potential Applications in Polymer Chemistry
Abstract: This study explores the isolation process of glucuronide compounds from Luffa tuberosa (Roxb.) using an efficient and cost-effective method. The extracted compound, Gypsogenin-3β-O-β-D-Methyl glucuronide, is characterized using spectroscopic techniques such as IR, NMR, and Mass Spectrometry. The polymeric nature of glucuronide-based compounds and their potential applications in polymer and composite materials are discussed. The findings highlight the suitability of glucuronide derivatives in biomedical, pharmaceutical, and polymeric drug delivery systems. Additionally, …

Pterygoid Implants: A Narrative Review
Abstract: The replacement of missing teeth in the maxillary posterior region poses a constant challenge for implant surgeons. This is a result of multiple challenges found in the back part of the upper jaw, which include concerns regarding the amount and quality of the existing bone, the structure of the maxillary sinus, and the complexities involved in reaching the area. Many surgical techniques, such as sinus lift, bone grafting, angled implants, …

Three-Dimensional Finite Element Modeling Study of Stress Distribution in Calcaneal Fracture
Abstract: The calcaneus is one of the biggest load-bearing tarsal bone in human body and therefore, many authors stress the importance of its biomechanical modeling and analysis in several aspects. We predicted possible fracture lines’ characteristics throughout the reconstruction of three-dimensional finite element modeling from CT slices and biomechanical analysis of stress state within talo-calcaneal complex, and its clinical validity was identified by comparing with radiographic/intraoperative findings. We reconstructed the 3-D …

TPLO-M: A Dual-Purpose Solution for CCL and MPL in Dogs
Abstract: Cranial Cruciate Ligament (CCL) rupture and Medial Patellar Luxation (MPL) are common orthopedic conditions affecting the canine stifle joint, particularly in small and toy breeds and larger athletic dogs. When these conditions occur together, they pose a significant surgical challenge due to the combined biomechanical abnormalities. Traditional surgical approaches, such as Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy (TPLO) for CCL insufficiency and corrective procedures for MPL, do not adequately address both conditions …
