Impact of Fertigation on Soil Nutrient Dynamics in Dalbergia sissoo tree plantations
Abstract: Fertigation allows the controlled placement of nutrients reducing fertilizer losses through leaching and minimize groundwater pollution. In fertigation Nutrient Use Efficiency (NUE) could be as high as 90% compared to 40-60% in conventional method of fertilizer application. Standardizing nutrient management with micro-irrigation system would require consideration to be contributed to soil nutrient dynamics. A field trial was conducted in Forest College and Research Institute, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Mettupalayam, Tamil …

Assessing of Forest Structure Using Earth Observation Data: A Case Study in Munessa Forest, Oromia Region, Ethiopia
Abstract: Understanding forest structure is crucial for estimating carbon emissions associated with forests, assessing forest degradation, and evaluating the success of forest restoration efforts. However, forest structure quantification is limited to the area of interest without considering the whole forest coverage. Forest structure may be easily assessed over a wide area using data from remote sensing. Thus, by combining ground observation with satellite-based light detection and ranging (LiDAR) and Sentinel 2 …

ASSESSING OF FOREST STRUCTURE USING EARTH OBSERVATION DATA: ACASE STUDY IN MUNESSA FOREST, OROMIA REGION, ETHIOPIA
Abstract: Forest structure is essential for estimating forest-related carbon emissions, analyzing forest degradation, and quantifying the effectiveness of forest restoration initiatives. However, forest structure quantification is only limited to the specific area of interest without considering the whole forest coverage. Remote sensing data can easily deliver a large area to assess forest structure. Therefore, this study aims to assess forest structure of Munessa Natural Forest by integrating satellite based light detection …

Flood Risk Assessment of Nowshera City and Remediation
Abstract: The climate change during the year 2010 showed an abrupt change and resulted in catastrophic floods in Pakistan and especially in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK). Thereby, there is a dire need of identifying the flood-prone areas and emplacement of flood protection structures at Nowshera city to protect the precious lives of the inhabitants and infrastructure. This paper focuses on identification of flood-prone areas, with a view to suggest remediation against flood …

Design, Fabrication and Testing of Excavate Machine for Multipurpose Applications
Abstract: The research work of square hole digger is based on civil construction and agriculture applications. One of the main challenges faced in the construction industry is to dig a square hole for laying pillar beams. The current systems and methods used for digging purpose are not achieving correct dimensions. The main challenge in the construction site was to dig a square hole for pillar beams with correct dimensions, and also …

Profitable Plantation Patterns
Abstract: In agriculture, a minimum distance often needs to be maintained while planting trees in an orchard or a field, so that each plant gets sufficient nutrients, water and sunlight. A common and obvious way of planting trees in a field, with each tree at a minimum distance (say 1 m) from its neighbors, would be along the corners of a square grid.

Performance of Artificial Neural Network for Tree Species Identification using Sentinel-2 Data
Abstract: Accurate land cover mapping, especially concerning vegetation, is crucial for effective land use policy planning and sustainable forest management. Hence, achieving accuracy in mapping requires a deep understanding of composition changes, vegetation conditions, and the spatial distribution of tree species. In the spatial context of tree species, it holds significant potential for applications including invasive species monitoring, delineating contaminated areas, and biodiversity conservation. However, traditional methods for tree species identification …

Soil Organic Carbon Stocks in Different Land Uses at Puthupet, Tamil Nadu, India
Abstract: AbstractSoil organic carbon (SOC) stocks were assessed in different land uses i.e., Cocos nucifera, Anacardium occidentale, Mangifera indica, Casuarina equisetifolia plantations, wasteland and natural forest at Puthupet, Tamil Nadu, India using Walkley and Black’s method. The soil bulk density was found to increase significantly (P< 0.05) with the increase in soil depth in all the sites except natural forest. Highest bulk density was recorded in wasteland and the least was …

Identification of Markers through Micromorphological Approach of Four Species of Fabaceae in Bankura, West Bengal
Abstract: Recently agro-forestry is gaining much importance as it has a vast scope to mitigate several problems. Many parts of the World especially in the tropics, vast areas of forest lands are now denuded of trees destroying the fragile environment and leaving extensive area unproductive. So, these areas can be reutilized by growing fuel wood plants as an alternative to fossil fuel. So, for large scale plantation screening for desired species …
