Extra Philadelphia in CML Due to Isodicentric 22: A Case Report
Abstract: Introduction: Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia is a malignancy that affects the hematopoietic stems cells (HSC) of the bone marrow, leading to the rapid and continual proliferation of granulocytes and precursor blast cells. This is caused due to a reciprocal translocation that occurs between chromosomes 9 and 22, leading to the formation of derivative 22 also called as Philadelphia (Ph) chromosome. The Ph chromosome then encodes a fusion oncoprotein that functions as …

From Rural to Urban: Understanding Taobao Villages to Redress Planetary Urbanisation
Abstract: This study examines Taobao Villages as an innovative model of urbanisation under China’s planetary urbanisation framework. These rural communities, driven by the rise of e-commerce and digital infrastructure, have successfully integrated into the broader urban ecosystem by reconfiguring their historical socio-spatial legacies. Through Lefebvre’s spatial triad framework, the research identifies three key historical legacies that underpin this transformation: (1) Collective Production Practices: Rooted in socialist collectivisation, these legacies include organisational …

Vitamin D Mitigates Inflammation and Downregulates Importin α3 in Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD)
Abstract: Background: Pro-inflammatory cytokines, such as TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6, and IL-8, seem to play a crucial role in the progression of NAFLD as they activate the transcription factor NF-кB. The activated NF-кBp50/RelA subunits are translocated to the nucleus by Importin α3 and Importin α4. Numerous studies have indicated a negative association between NAFLD and vitamin D levels. Low vitamin D levels have been correlated with histological severity, necro-inflammation, and fibrosis in …

In Silico Investigation of 2,3-Dihydrobenzofuran from Centella asiatica: A Possible Pioneer in the Management of Tetanus
Abstract: Objective: Tetanus toxin (TeNT) is a neuroprotein toxin, the most toxic known. They have three functional domains and are structurally similar. They possess an N-terminal catalytic section (light chain), an internal domain for heavy-chain translocation (HN domain), and a C-terminal receptor binding domain for the heavy chain (Hc domain or RBD). Tetanus, an acute nerve-affecting disease, is provoked by a toxin-producing bacterium called Clostridium tetani. This bacterium is environmental, Gram-positive, …

A Comprehensive Review on Nanostructured Polymer Composites for CT Imaging Contrast Enhancement in Brain Tumor Diagnosis
Abstract: The detection and characterization of brain tumors require high-resolution and non-invasive imaging modalities that have the ability of differentiating tumorous tissues and healthy brain tissues. Computed tomography (CT) can be included in this number because, in addition to providing speedy scans and penetration to deep tissue, the diagnostic capability in soft tissue organ such as the brain is poor despite low natural contrast. The review is dedicated to the emerging …

Vitamin D Mitigates Inflammation and Downregulates Importin α3 in Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD)
Abstract: Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) affects about one-third of the population in the United States and Western countries, reaching up to 90% among obese individuals and those undergoing bariatric surgery. Characterized by hepatic fat accumulation, NAFLD progresses from simple steatosis to non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), fibrosis, and, in rare cases, hepatocellular carcinoma. Linked intricately with metabolic syndrome, including diabetes and obesity, NAFLD development involves insulin resistance and hyperinsulinemia. Experimental evidence consistently …

Pharmacoepigenomics of Replication Timing: How Anti- Cancer Drugs Reshape Chromatin Domains and Mutational Landscapes.
Abstract: DNA replication timing serves as a fundamental epigenetic feature that organizes genome function during the cell cycle (3), while anti-cancer drugs profoundly alter this process to disrupt tumor growth(4). These agents target chromatin architecture, shifting replication domains and reshaping mutational patterns critical for cancer evolution (1,5). DNA replication timing (RT) domains serve as dynamic epigenetic organizers, partitioning the genome into early- and late-replicating regions that correlate with chromatin states, gene …
