Formulation and Evaluation of Transdermal Patch to Enhance Treatment of Alopecia
Abstract: The improvement of novel topical sedate conveyance frameworks has picked up noteworthy consideration due to their potential in upgrading the helpful viability and persistent compliance whereas minimizing systemic side impacts. This thinks about centers on the definition and assessment of transdermal patches planned to discharge allicin, the essential naturally dynamic compound determined from garlic (Allium sativum) extricate. Allicin is eminent for its wide range of pharmacological properties, counting antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, …

Polymer Chemistry in Sustained-Release Herbal Composites: Designing a Stable Euphorbia tithymaloides Topical System with Phospholipid and Polymer Matrices
Abstract: Polymer chemistry enables the stabilization and sustained release of herbal actives, critical for topical therapeutic applications. This study explores a novel process for preparing a stable, sustained-release topical composition of Euphorbia tithymaloides, leveraging polymer-based systems. Ethanolic extract (50 mg) of the plant, rich in unstable sugar moieties (e.g., D-ribose) and sterols (e.g., stigmasterol), is encapsulated within a phospholipid matrix of phosphatidylcholine (50–100 mg) and cholesterol (50–100 mg). This lipid-polymer complex, …

A Brief Review on Herbal Excipients
Abstract: Natural or herbal excipients are significantly more advantageous than their synthetic equivalents because they are readily available, non-toxic, and less expensive. The pharmaceutical industries are becoming more interested in using these herbal excipients – mainly polymers of natural origin – in formulation development because of growing knowledge of them. The purpose of this study is to provide light on the possibility of using natural excipients, which are biocompatible and able …

Microneedles: An Innovative Drug Delivery System
Abstract: Microneedles represent a groundbreaking innovation in drug delivery systems, offering a transformative alternative to conventional hypodermic needles and transdermal patches. This advanced technology combines the precision and efficacy of needle-based delivery with the convenience and pain-free nature of patches, creating a minimally invasive platform that addresses many limitations of traditional drug administration. Microneedles are designed to penetrate the stratum corneum – the skin’s outermost layer – without reaching pain-sensitive nerves …

Cosmetic Topical Formulations: Design Strategies, Skin Interaction Mechanisms, Clinical–Cosmetic Applications, and Emerging Trends
Abstract: Cosmetic topical products are central to modern skin care, as they deliver active ingredients directly to the skin surface and upper layers to improve appearance, texture, and function. By acting locally on the epidermis and adnexal structures, these preparations help manage dryness, photoaging, pigmentation, acne, and sensitive-skin conditions while minimizing systemic exposure. A wide range of dosage forms—creams, lotions, gels, ointments, serums, sprays, and transdermal-inspired cosmetic patches—are engineered to modulate …
