Hydrolysis-Driven Optimization of Hydroxypropyl Maize Starch for Improved Micro-Pellet Binding and Quick Solubility of Spirulina-Based Micro-Pellets
Abstract: Acid hydrolysis is a well-established approach for modifying the physicochemical properties of polysaccharides & macromolecules including hydroxypropyl Maize starch (HPMS). In this study, the effect of varying concentrations of hydrochloric acid on the partial hydrolytic degradation of HPMS (Lycoat RS-780) was investigated at 85°C for 4 h, yielding polymers of different molecular weights. The Acid-mediated degradation effects on polymer characteristics were systematically assessed using capillary viscometry and gel permeation chromatography …

Review on Spirulina ( Green Alage)
Abstract: Spirulina is an edible blue-green algae that is a plant protein source. In recent years, its health benefits have attracted scientific attention, including micro-level examinations of the algae's bioactive components. As proof of concept, investigations conducted in vitro, in vivo, and ex vivo have shown how spirulina works and how it affects immunity. Spirulina has been used as a whole food and as a nutritional supplement for many years. It …

“DEVELOPMENT AND CHARACTERIZATION OF PHYTOSOMES FOR THE TREATMENT OF ANTI-CANCER ACTIVITY BY USING THE Spirulina (Arthospira Plantesis) EXTRACT”
Abstract: This study aims to investigate and evaluate spirulina's anticancer properties. The current research is centred on obtaining a Spirulina-containing drug. The goal is to design and create Phytosomes, characterizing them based on relevant and crucial parameters. The process of solvent evaporation was utilized in the creation of Phytosomes. Various parameters such as zeta potential, particle size, infra-red spectral analysis, % drug content, encapsulation efficiency, and % drug release (% DR) were …

Foods of the False Upside-Down Catfish (Synodontis nigrita) from Otamiri River, Rivers State, Nigeria
Abstract: The false upside-down catfish (Synodontis nigrita) from Otamiri River was studied for its food choices in its natural environment by examining its stomach content. Samples of the species were studied using the frequency of occurrence, and number methods. The most important food item (Food Ranking) was determined by index of food significance (IFS). The IFS was estimated as a function of percentage number of food items in the stomach to …
