Interfacial Bonding Efficiency in Jute-Carbon Fiber Polyester Matrix Composites Evaluated Through Short Beam Shear and Interlaminar Fracture Toughness Testing
Abstract: The natural Fiber–synthetic Fiber hybrid composites are jute–carbon Fiber hybrid in polyester matrix which could be used in semi-structural applications of automotive, construction and marine industry as an eco-friendly and cost-effective alternative of conventional carbon Fiber reinforced polymer. But the hydrophilic nature of jute Fibers and the relatively inert surface of carbon Fiber's cause weak bonding at the interface of the polyester matrix, which causes premature delamination, poor interlaminar shear …

Considerations on Fractured Edge Dislocations of Mechanical Tested Hand Laid Hemp Flax GFRP Hybrid Polymer Composites with SEM Verifications
Abstract: In this research study, three types of composite samples are made. Hemp-Glass Fiber (C1), Flax- Glass Fiber (C2), and Hemp-Flax-Glass Fiber Hybrid Composite (C3). For proper fibre-to-fiber adhesion and bonding, a 10:1 mixture of glue (LY556) and brace (HY951) was used. Tensile, flexural, impact, double shear, and hardness research is conducted among all the specimen samples. According to ASTM standards, the comparison is made among C1, C2 and C2 respectively; …

Optimization of FDM 3D Printer Process Parameters For PETG Material Using TOPSIS Technique
Abstract: 3D printing is a quickly evolving process that builds the desired shape by layering on material. In the era of modern production, additive manufacturing has grown in significance due to its user-friendliness. By using this technique, one can produce complex & intricate geometries with much ease when compared to conventional manufacturing. With the increased demand for 3D printing, consideration towards strength quality and other mechanical properties is also increasing progressively. …

Viscoelastic Behavior, Interfacial Mechanics, and Reliability of Polymer Interlayers in Laminated Glass Composites: A Comprehensive Review
Abstract: The laminated glass systems are regarded as hybrid polymer–glass composites where the viscoelastic behavior of polymer interlayers mostly controls mechanical response. These interlayers (polyvinyl butyral (PVB), ionoplast, ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA), etc.) have time-, temperature- and rate-dependent properties which significantly affect shear transfer, energy dissipation, and fracture resistance. But the baseline polymer-relevant processes at the molecular and interfacial level are to a large extent unknown [1]. This review provides a materials-focused …

Effect of Nanoclay Loading on Physical and Mechanical Properties of Epoxy Composites
Abstract: The effects of multilayer silicate loading on hardness, tensile, and impact properties were examined by developing epoxy–nanoclay composites with 0–5 wt% nanoclay. A desirable compromise between reduced void content and higher Shore D hardness was reached with an ideal nanoclay loading of 3 wt%, which reflected improved load transfer and increased matrix stiffness as a result of limited polymer chain mobility. Tensile strength and modulus rose up to 3 wt% …

Mechanical Behavioral Analysis of Sugarcane Bagasse, Coconut Fiber and Kevlar Fiber Reinforced Composite with Micrographs
Abstract: Asbestos and alloys are materials that are frequently used as brake pads; however, because these materials pose risks to human health and the environment, including lung cancer, it is necessary to replace the materials used in brake pads. In place of the current brake pads, composite fibers such as kevlar, sugarcane bagasse, and coconut are studied in this study. The procedure of manually laying up composite molding is used to …

Structure–Property Correlation of Infill Topology and Density on Tensile and Flexural Performance of FDM-Printed PLA and ABS
Abstract: Additive Manufacturing (AM), particularly Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM), has become a widely adopted manufacturing technology due to its design flexibility, low cost, and capability for rapid prototyping. However, the mechanical performance of FDM-printed components is strongly influenced by internal structural parameters such as infill pattern and infill density, in addition to the intrinsic material behaviour. This study investigates the structure–property relationship between infill topology, density, and mechanical performance of PLA …

Hydrothermal modification of carbon fiber fabrics by ZnO nanorods for mechanical strengthening of CFRP laminates
Abstract: Hexagonal ZnO nanorods were produced on plain woven carbon fiber using a two-step seed-assisted hydrothermal procedure. By varying the process parameters such as molar concentrations, number of seeding cycles, and growth duration at a controlled growth temperature of 90 °C, it is feasible to produce ZnO nanostructures with a range of morphologies, including nanowires, hexagonal nanorods, and nanoflowers. The developed morphologies were examined using field emission scanning electron microscopy and …

Development of Robot Arm Fingers with Polymer Soft Materials
Abstract: Lightweight soft material applications have attracted attention to Basalt Fiber Reinforced Polymer (BFRP) laminates because of their impressive mechanical characteristics. The impact response and stress-strain behavior of epoxy resin laminates armored with basalt fiber and banana fiber are investigated during this project using computational and experimental approaches. The hand lay-up method was employed to create laminates with a thickness of 3 mm, dimensions of 300x300 mm², and a layout of …

Computation of the Necking in Bars Without Geometrical Imperfection
Abstract: This paper presents a finite element analysis to compute the neck profiles of smooth, circular cylindrical bars in shear-free grip under uniaxial tensile load. The analysis uses 4-node quadrilateral element with linear displacement variation, as well as 8-node Serendipity quadrilateral element with curved sides and a quadratic variation of the displacement field, for power law hardening materials that follow von Mises plasticity. All the elements are based on isoparametric formulation. …
