Role Of Autologous Platelet Rich Plasma in The Management of Scald Burns
Abstract: There is currently no widely accepted approach to enhance the rate of wound healing for scaldburn injuries, despite the numerous factors that can contribute to the wound becoming chronicand non-healing. Various modalities are used to accelerate the rate of healing, like platelet richplasma, local infiltration of insulin, irritant substances, laser therapy et al. This study aims toexplore the potential benefits of utilizing Autologous Platelet Rich Plasma (APRP) as asupplementary treatment …

Role of Dried Allogenic Amniotic Membrane in Second degree Scald Burns
Abstract: Burn injuries represent a significant portion of common injuries, stemming from thermal, scalding, or electrical incidents. Among these, scald injuries stand out as the predominant type in children under five years old, constituting a majority, with over 65% of cases falling under this category. Currently, various scaffolds are employed to enhance the healing process and mitigate scar formation. Collagen plays a crucial role as a scaffold, facilitating tissue regeneration and …

Role of Nail Pilar Assisted Dermabrasion in Scald Burns
Abstract: Second-degree deep dermal and full-thickness burn injuries tend to heal slowly and often result in scarring. Deep dermal burns, which extend beyond the superficial layers of the skin, require prompt and specialized medical intervention to promote effective healing. While superficial burns, which involve only the epidermis and superficial dermal layers, can often be managed through wound irrigation, debridement, and standard local wound care, deeper burns present more complex challenges. In …

Role of Nail Filer Assisted Dermabrasion in Scald Burns
Abstract: Deep second-degree and full-thickness burns tend to heal slowly and often result in scarring. To encourage proper healing, deep dermal burns need to be treated early with tangential excision and skin grafting. While superficial burns, which affect only the epidermis and upper dermal layers, can often be managed with wound irrigation, debridement, and basic wound care, deeper burns that extend into the lower dermal layers and beyond typically require more …

The Use of Autologous Platelet-Rich Plasma in Treating Web Space Scar Contractures in Pediatric Burn Patients
Abstract: Burn injuries are prevalent among children, with scald injuries emerging as the predominant type among those under the age of five, constituting more than 65% of cases. Despite receiving appropriate initial treatment and compressive therapy, deep burns often result in contractures, with web space and hand contractures being the most frequent and functionally limiting. To address these challenges in burn management, Autologous Platelet Rich Plasma (APRP) has emerged as a significant …

Role Of Autologous Platelet-Rich Plasma (APRP) In Take of Graft
Abstract: Autologous platelet-rich plasma (APRP) has gained attention as a promising adjunct in skin grafting procedures, particularly in enhancing the take and healing of grafts in burn patients. This study focuses on the application of APRP to improve the adherence of split-thickness skin grafts (STSG) in a pediatric patient with scald burns. APRP is prepared by concentrating the patient’s platelets from a small volume of blood, which is rich in growth …

Prevalence and Treatment Outcome of Burn Injury among Pediatric Patients Attending Pediatric Emergency OPD of Hawassa University Comprehensive Specialized Hospital, Hawassa, Southern Ethiopia
Abstract: Background: Burn injury is one of the most common and devastating forms of trauma and a major health problem of pediatric morbidity and mortality worldwide resulting in substantial physical, psychological and economic loss. Burn-related injuries are a significant burden in children, particularly in low and middle-income countries (LMICs), where more than 90% of burn-related pediatric deaths occur [1]. The aim of this study was to assess the prevalence and treatment …
