Sustainable High-Strength Concrete: A Study on M60 Mixes with Alccofine as Supplementary Cementitious Material
Abstract: Concrete, which combines cement, water, aggregates, and admixtures to create a flexible material that solidifies into stone-like strength, is the foundation of contemporary building. Because of its versatility, it can be used for anything from pavements to skyscrapers, but typical mixes require large amounts of cement, which increases manufacturing costs and CO2 emissions. This study investigates the use ofAlccofine 1203, a powder made from ultrafine slag, as a partial substitute …

Composite Behavior of Bagasse Ash Stabilized Expansive Soil with Sodium Benzophenone Under Curing Conditions
Abstract: The present investigation examines the development of a hybrid composite using Black Cotton (BC) soil, Bagasse Ash (BA), and Sodium Benzophenone (SBP) as performance-enhancing elements. Different ratios of BA, a silica-rich agro-industrial by-product, were added to improve pozzolanic reactivity and particle size distribution (0%, 6%, and 12%). SBP was added in the range of 0–0.6% as a compatibilizer in order to enhance interfacial adhesion, particle cohesivity and moisture-assisted deterioration resistance. …

Performance Evaluation of Modified Concrete Incorporating Fly Ash, Silica Fume, Rice Husk Ash, and Calcium Nitrate
Abstract: The growing demand for sustainable and high-performance concrete has led to the incorporation of supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs) and chemical admixtures to enhance mechanical and durability properties. This study investigates the effect of 15% fly ash, 10% silica fume, 10% rice husk ash, and 3% calcium nitrate as a partial replacement for cement in M25 and M30 grade concrete. Experimental results demonstrate that the modified concrete exhibited an increase in …

Performance Evaluation of Concrete with Binary and Ternary Blends of Fly Ash, Silica Fume, and Fiber Reinforcement
Abstract: This study evaluates the effect of ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBS) as a partial replacement for cement on the mechanical properties of concrete, focusing on compressive and split tensile strength. Concrete mixes were prepared with GGBS replacement levels of 0%, 25%, and 50% and subjected to different curing methods, including water curing, steam curing, and conceal curing. These curing methods were selected to investigate their impact on hydration, strength …

Enhancing Mechanical and Durability Properties of Coconut Shell Concrete Using Fly Ash
Abstract: The increasing demand for sustainable and lightweight construction materials has driven research into alternative aggregates for concrete production. This study investigates the mechanical and durability properties of coconut shell (CS) concrete with varying percentages of fly ash replacement. The research evaluates compressive strength, split tensile strength, water absorption, and workability to determine the feasibility of CS concrete as a structural material. Experimental findings indicate that incorporating 10% fly ash (CSF10 …

Red Earth Development of a Soil-Based Composite Using Bagasse Ash and Lime: Effects on Plasticity and Compaction Characteristics of Red Earth
Abstract: The concept of sustainable soil composites (SSC) emerges through blending red earth with bagasse ash (BA) and hydrated lime to enhance geotechnical properties and enable productive reuse of agro-industrial waste. Red earth functions as the matrix, BA acts as a fine pozzolanic microfiller, and lime serves as the chemical binder. BA content ranges from 0% to 60%, with 10% identified as optimal; subsequent lime additions from 1% to 5% evaluate …

A systematic Review on Laterite based geopolymer
Abstract: Laterite based geopolymer has been widely studied as a sustainable alternative to Portland cement in construction industry. However, its thermal performance is still a challenge due to the low thermal conductivity and low temperature resistance. In this paper, recent studies on the improvement of thermal performance of laterite based geopolymer using additives are reviewed. The additives studied include organic materials, metal oxides and natural fillers. The effect of these additives …

Effect of Heat Exposure on Structural Integrity of Geopolymer Concrete Composites
Abstract: The research evaluates the thermal degradation effects of high temperatures on Geo Polymer Concrete Composite (GPCC) by examining alccofine concrete, concrete made with alccofine and porcelain waste aggregates. Knowing how GPCC behaves under high temperatures proves essential for protecting buildings during fires as well as industrial applications. Each mix design received composite concrete samples that underwent increased heating conditions from 100°C to 700°C at 200°C intervals. Post-heating, various parameters were …

A Review on Hybrid Inorganic–Polymer Analog Nanocomposites Incorporating Pozzolanic Wastes and nano-Additives
Abstract: The recent progress of polymer matrix nanocomposites (PMNCs) reveals that the performance of matrix and filler is at the core of matrix–filler interaction, interfacial bonding, and well-controlled distribution of nanoscale reinforcements. Applying these concepts, we consider inorganic particulate systems as hybrid nanocomposites, in which a discontinuous inorganic matrix is effectively reinforced via synergistic co-incorporation of pozzolanic wastes and nano-additives. In the composite system described above, silica-, alumina-rich pozzolanic materials serve …
