Evaluation of Over Forage Legume on Biomass Productivity of the Highland Natural Pasture, High Altitude of Southern Ethiopia
Abstract: The present study was conducted at Alicho Wuriro district, Ethiopia to evaluate legumes over sowing on biomass productivity of highland grazing land and nutritive value of combined sample. Treatments were Vicia dasycarpa, Vicia sativa, and Vicia villosa and none over sown or control. Three replications of a randomized complete block design experiment were used. Significantly the highest dry matter yield was recorded for grazing land over sown V.dasycarpa (23.56 t/ha) …

Constrains Perceived by the Dairy Farmers in Irrigated Ecosystem: A Case Study from Damodar Command Area, West Bengal
Abstract: Dairy farming in India is important not only in view of fulfilling the demand of milk in the country, but it has become necessary in the perspective of the reintroduction of organic farming. Despite West Bengal being one of the leading milk producing states in India, the associated bottlenecks need to be identified and solved in time so that further progress in dairy farming is not hindered. The present study …

Bovine Milk in Andean Peru: Pastures
Abstract: Modern world faces a malnourishment crisis; two billion people with micronutrient deficiency and around 200 million children under five are either stunned or low-weighted. In rural areas such as that of Peruvian territory, the scenario is more prevalent and linked to poverty. Milk as a dietary complement produce is poorly consumed in Peruvian Andes and in Peruvian territory, early estimates indicate that no more than 10 kg/year/person of milk is …

Human Nutrition: Bovine Milk in Andean Peru
Abstract: AbstractBovine Milk is a Nutrient-rich produce which is commonly consumed in developed countries as part of a healthy diet (213.7 kg/year) not being the case for developing countries (55.2 kg/year). The economic desition of selling the milk by the small-size farmer (no more than 10 cows at a given time) and the lack of diversity for packed presentations stand as the major phenomenological interpretation for low values of Milk consumption …

Assessment Of Land Use And Land Cover Change In District Baramulla (J&K)
Abstract: The present study aims to study the land use land cover change detection in district Baramulla from 1980 to 2014. The images of two different time periods 1980 (MSS) and 2014 (OLI) have been used to measure the change detection in the study area. Spatial and radiometric enhancement has been carried out to improve the image quality. The analysis revealed that the area under built-up, horticulture and pasture has shown …

Challenges faced by upper indus basin (UIB) communities due to climate change
Abstract: The Upper Indus Basin (UIB) communities are heavily dependent on water resources for their sustenance. The region relies on glacial and snowmelts for irrigation water, energy, domestic and irrigation uses. Climate change poses threat to vulnerable region all around the world, and Upper Indus Basin (UIB) is no different. The variability in climatic conditions such change in precipitation pattern and temperature fluctuations have disrupted the agriculture practices of the region …

Integrating Livestock for Enhancing Sustainability of Soil, Water and Agroecosystem: Implications from a One Health Perspective
Abstract: Livestock systems play a pivotal role in sustaining environmental health, enhancing ecosystem services, and supporting agricultural productivity. Well-managed integration of livestock into agroecosystems contributes to soil fertility through organic matter deposition, microbial stimulation, and nutrient cycling, while improving soil structure and long-term productivity. Grazing and pasture management regulate water infiltration, retention, and hydrological balance, mitigating soil erosion and enhancing water-use efficiency. Livestock also promote biodiversity by maintaining habitat heterogeneity, facilitating …
