Quasi Distributed FBG Sensors for the Simultaneous Measurement of Strain, Weight and Temperature
Abstract: We report quasi distributed fiber Bragg grating sensors (FBG) for the simultaneous measurement of strain, weight and temperature. Three FBGs with different Bragg wavelengths are employed for the measurement of strain, weight, and temperature. A broad band light source is used for probing and an optical spectrum analyzer for observing the reflected spectrum. All the three FBGs are connected in series leaving a few meters of fibers in between. MATLAB …

Growth and Characterization of CuInSe2 Nanoparticles for Solar Cell Applications
Abstract: This paper investigates the possibility of growing copper indium diselenide (CuInSe2) nanoparticles by solution method for solar cell applications. The purpose is to study the reaction, growth mechanism and to optimize the parameters of this method. Upon successful synthesizing the samples, they were characterized using various techniques. EDAX, SEM, PIXE, XRD together with the measured optical parameters obtained from UV-VIS absorption testing were analyzed. They show reasonably identical values that …

Investigations on the impact of modulation formats and weather conditions in FSO link employing polarization division multiplexing and coherent detection-orthogonal frequency division multiplexing
Abstract: Free space optics (FSO) is a communication system where free space acts as medium between transceivers and they should be in line-of-sight for successful transmission of optical signal. Medium can be air, outer space, or vacuum. This system can be used for communication purpose in hours and in lesser economy. There are many advantages of FSO like high bandwidth and no spectrum license. The transmission in FSO is dependent on …

Synthesis, characterization, and antibacterial activity of silver nanoparticles with expired minocycline as reducing agent: proposed as a recycling technique.
Abstract: In this research, expired minocycline, a broad-spectrum tetracycline antibiotic, was employed as both a reducing and stabilizing agent for the eco-friendly synthesis of silver nanoparticles. This sustainable method avoids the use of toxic chemical reducing agents, providing a greener alternative for nanoparticle production. The synthesized silver nanoparticles were analyzed using several characterization techniques, such as UV-Vis’s spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and Edex analysis, to assess their structural, …
