A Comprehensive Ahp-Topsis Approach For Non-Traditional Machining Process Selection In The Manufacturing Sector
Abstract: Non-traditional machining processes (NTMPs) are being used more widely in modern industry as a result of the increased use of advanced materials in that sector. Selecting the best Non-Traditional Machining Process (NTMP) is essential to a manufacturing company's success and competitiveness. One way to think of the process of choosing the best NTMP for a given machining processes application is as a multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) problem with a lot of …

Using MCDM Methods in automotive industry- A Review
Abstract: In the automobile sector, choosing the best car necessitates weighing a number of factors, including cost, fuel economy, performance, safety, and environmental impact. In order to solve complicated situations that need the simultaneous evaluation of multiple conflicting aspects, Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) procedures are essential. Among the various MCDM approaches, the Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) and MOORA are widely recognized for their straightforward structure …

A Novel Direct Weighted Deviation (DWD) Method for Agricultural Enterprise Selection: A Case Study of Namakkal District, Tamil Nadu
Abstract: The study proposes a novel Direct Weighted Deviation (DWD) method for Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) by eliminating normalization, distance metrics, and pairwise comparisons. DWD is thereafter used to evaluate and select ten rainfed agricultural enterprises against ten generic and context-specific viability criteria in Namakkal District, Tamil Nadu, a water-scarce region in India. Subsequently, other methods (AHP, SAW, WPM, and TOPSIS) are used to obtain a comparative second opinion and validate …

Multicriteria Decision Making using SR-Fuzzy Sets
Abstract: In this study, we introduce and explore square-root fuzzy sets (SR-Fuzzy sets), a novel extension within the realm of fuzzy set theory. We begin by establishing a comparative analysis between SR-Fuzzy sets and two well-known fuzzy set models: Intuitionistic Fuzzy Sets (IFS) and Pythagorean Fuzzy Sets (PFS). This comparison highlights the unique characteristics and mathematical structure of SR-Fuzzy sets. A particular focus is placed on the complement operator, which plays …

A novel similarity measure for interval value picture fuzzy Environment and extended TOPSIS
Abstract: Correct decision-making is the most arduous task in our daily life. The decisions are hard to make in the multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) problems due to ambiguous and unexpected information. In order to cope with such uncertainties in the data, a new decision-making approach has been developed using a newly defined similarity measure under the framework of interval-valued picture fuzzy set (IVPFS), as an extension of picture fuzzy sets (PFS). In …

Application of MCDM Techniques for Selection of Battery for Electric Vehicle
Abstract: An electric vehicle (EV) operates using an electric motor, which differs from traditional vehicles powered by internal combustion enginesElectric motors are used to power EVs rather than gasoline and gasses. These motors are powered by fuel cells, solar panels, or battery packs that recharge. As a result, EVs are increasingly considered as potential replacements for conventional automobiles, aiming to combat issues such as pollution, global warming, and resource depletion. Electric …

Review of Input Selection Criteria; Comparison of Popular Methods Used in Water Stress Analysis.
Abstract: This paper examines input variables and their respective selection criteria intended for application in methodologies addressing water scarcity. It presents a comparative analysis of prominent approaches utilized in assessing water stress within urban contexts, such as the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), Multiple Criteria Decision Making (MCDM), Geographic Overlay Decision (GOD), and System for Integrated Assessment of City Transformation towards Sustainability (SINTACTS). The principal aim is to scrutinize prevailing input parameters …

Ranking of Epoxy/Kota Stone Dust/Fly Ash Composite Using Integrated AHP-TOPSIS Approach
Abstract: The generation of industrial waste is a significant contributor to environmental pollution. The stone industry is no exception to this, and it is known to produce a significant amount of waste. The Kota Stone Industry in India is one such industry that generates waste. This research article focuses on composite material selection for mechanical and structural applications by fabricating epoxy composites reinforced with Kota stone dust and fly ash using …

A Novel Symmetric Anchor Scoring (SAS) Method for Industrial Location Selection: Application to Electric Vehicle Manufacturing in Tamil Nadu, India
Abstract: This work highlights the city-level detail of decision-making enabled by a new MCDM method Symmetry Anchor Scoring (SAS). Generally conventional methods are good at selecting one best and one worst alternative, but not differentiating among the many strong contenders more likely in practice. Linking MCDM methods to the tradition of decision making, the paper discusses the mathematics and analogical basis of SAS design, provides a visual proof of its ideal …

Multi-Criteria Assessment of Renewable Energy Technologies for Solar Buildings Using Waspas Method
Abstract: This research comprehensively evaluates renewable energy alternatives for solar buildings using the WASPAS multi-criteria decision-making framework. The analysis covers six distinct energy technologies: geothermal heat pumps, wind turbines, biomass heating systems, micro-hydro installations, fuel cells and building-integrated energy efficiency systems. These options are assessed against four key criteria: energy efficiency, economic viability, environmental sustainability and technical feasibility. The WASPAS methodology combines both summative and multiplicative techniques to produce reliable rankings. …
