Hydrothermal synthesis of ZnS for efficient photodegradation of Malachite green
Abstract: In this work, ZnS nanoparticles were prepared by hydrothermal method. Various characterization techniques such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), UV-visible optical spectroscopy and FT-IR spectra were used to study the structural, composition and optical properties of synthesized nanoparticles. The XRD pattern showed that the prepared ZnS nanoparticles have a cubic zinc blende structure. The band gap is calculated from absorption spectra with the help of Taucplot and is found to be …

Bioscouring And Anionization of Waste Cotton Fabric for Efficient Removal of Malachite Green Dye
Abstract: Adsorption is an efficient method for dye removal but the high cost of adsorbents limits its use, emphasizing the need for sustainable, low-cost alternatives. This study explores the usage of modified cotton fabric for the treatment of malachite green (cationic dye) from wastewater. Cellulase extracted from Raphanus sativus and Daucus carota were evaluated for bioscouring potential which was confirmed by scanning electron microscopy. Further, cotton fabric was chemically modified using …

Facile Fabrication and Characterization of Novel Sterculia Gum–graft-poly(n-isopropylacrylamide-co-acrylamide) Hydrogel for Efficient Removal of Cationic Dyes from Aqueous Solution
Abstract: Water is indispensable component of life. Contamination of water is a severe problem that affects human health, aquatic vegetation, and fauna. Aside from various effluents, a variety of cationic dyes generated by industrial effluents contributes significantly to water contamination. In this study, a sterculia gum graft-poly(n-isopropylacrylamide-co-acrylamide) hydrogel was made using a graft copolymerization technique with N,N′-methylene-bis-acrylamide as a crosslinker, ammonium persulphate as an initiator, and tetramethylethylenediamine as an accelerator to …

Characterization of Laccase Enzyme from Dye Degrading Bacterial Strains Isolated from Natural Sources
Abstract: The continuous growth in globalization and industrialization has increased the environmental pollution and one such major contaminant is various types of synthetic dyes. Microbial decolorization and degradation of these dyes through secretion of various extracellular enzymes is gaining importance owing to their eco-friendly nature. One such enzyme is laccase, a multicopper oxidase enzyme which has the ability to oxidize both phenolic and non-phenolic compounds through reduction of molecular oxygen to …
