Various Methods For Plastic Waste Pyrolysis To Fuels: A Review
Abstract: The world's decreasing oil reserves and increasing energy demands are pushing experts to explore alternative ways of producing premium oils that can replace fossil fuels. Waste-to-energy recovery, which involves converting waste materials into energy, shows great potential for managing waste. Waste plastics, abundant and with a high combustion heat, are attractive for energy conversion. However, the vast use of plastic products, both industrially and domestically, leads to a surge in …

Biodegradation of Plastic Waste Using Various Fungal Isolates from Plastic-Polluted Sites in Meerut: Analysis of Polymers and Composites
Abstract: By isolating microorganisms from a dumpsite containing low-density polyethylene (LDPE), the potential for microbial decomposition of plastic waste was studied. Four different strains of Aspergillus niger (fungus) were identified and used to biodegrade plastic waste. The isolated fungal strains included Aspergillus niger, Alternaria, A. fumigatus, A. flavus, and A. luchuensis. Predominant fungal strains, Aspergillus niger and Alternaria, were selected for polyethylene degradation under laboratory conditions. In a controlled shaker culture, …

Enhancing Bituminous Mixes with Recycled Polyethylene: Performance Analysis Using Marshall Stability Test
Abstract: This study investigates the impact of incorporating recycled low-density polyethylene (LDPE) and high-density polyethylene (HDPE) in bituminous mixes for potential use in flexible pavement construction. Utilizing a Marshall Stability Test, various proportions of LDPE and HDPE were analyzed to determine optimal stability and flow characteristics. The test maintained a fixed Zycotherm content at 1.5% and varied LDPE content from 2% to 5% by weight, while HDPE content was also tested …
