Synthesis and Characterization of Composites of Beryllia and Lithium-titanate Produced by Solid State Route
Abstract: Beryllium oxide (BeO) is proposed to be used as a constituent for lithium titanate (Li2TiO3) based composite material for neutron multiplication and breeding in International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) for its high thermal conductivity, low neutron absorption cross-section and high neutron reflection cross section. In the present investigation, we report the synthesis of single phase BeO-Li2TiO3 composites with BeO to Li2TiO3 (produced through solid state route) in volume ratios of …

Unraveling Mixed Ionic-Electronic Conduction in Lithium-Substituted Rubidium Tetra Titanates via Dielectric Spectroscopy and EPR Analysis
Abstract: Lithium-substituted Rubidium Tetra Titanates with varying concentrations of lithium carbonate (Li₂CO₃) — specifically 0.01, 0.05, and 0.1 molar percentages — were successfully synthesized using a conventional high-temperature solid-state reaction method. The resulting compounds follow the general chemical formula Rb₂₋ₓLiₓTi₄O₉. X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis confirmed that lithium ions were successfully incorporated into the crystal lattice without disrupting the fundamental layered structure of the host material. The crystal system remained monoclinic across …

A Review on Aerospace Materials and Metallurgy
Abstract: Aerospace metalworking is comparable to the foundation of both space travel and transportation. It involves the scientific design and application of metals and alloys to offer components with the strength required for flight and the ability to survive harsh environments. Although other alloys feature cobalt or iron as the main ingredient, nickel makes up most of alloys used in aeronautical applications. When exceptionally high strength is required in moderate-temperature settings, …
