Production of n-Butanol from Biomass by Two Step Fermentation Process Using Staphylococcus Sciuri
Abstract: This study explores the sustainable production of n-butanol from wheat husk through a two-step bioconversion process. Wheat husk, an abundant agricultural residue, was first fermented into butyric acid using Bacillus subtilis. The resultant butyric acid was then converted into n-butanol using Staphylococcus sciuri. The process leverages biological fermentation to create value-added chemicals from lignocellulosic biomass, offering an eco-friendly alternative to petrochemical methods. Two steps fermentation process were carried to increase …

Agro- residue Pretreatment Tools and Techniques: A Detailed review
Abstract: This review examines the significance of biomass pre-treatment in facilitating efficient biofuel production from lignocellulosic materials. Different methods of pre-treatment, such as acid, alkaline, liquid hot water, ionic liquids, organosolv, ozonolysis, wet oxidation, steam explosion, ammonia fiber explosion (AFEX), carbon dioxide explosion, and biological pretreatment, are examined in terms of their underlying principles, benefits, and drawbacks. Acid pretreatment effectively hydrolyzes hemicellulose but suffers from equipment corrosion and high operational costs, …

White-Rot Fungi-Based Bioprocessing for Circular Bioeconomy & Valorization of Lignocellulosic Waste
Abstract: The escalating global demand for sustainable resource management and the imperative to reduce dependence on fossil-based products have positioned the circular bioeconomy as a transformative paradigm for the 21st century. Lignocellulosic biomass, generated abundantly as agricultural and forestry residues, constitutes one of the most underexploited renewable carbon sources on Earth, yet its recalcitrant structure, interlinking cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin, has long impeded its efficient valorization. White-rot fungi (WRF), predominantly belonging …

Structural Modification of Sugarcane Bagasse using Alkaline, Acid, and Bleaching Pretreatments for Enhanced Yield of Poly (1→4)-β-D-glucopyranose (Cellulose) and Hemicellulose for Utilization as Biocomposites
Abstract: Sugarcane bagasse, a lignocellulosic byproduct generated in substantial quantities by the sugar industry, represents a promising feedstock for the sustainable production of enzymes and bio-based chemicals. Its high (1→4)-β-D-glucopyranose (cellulose) content, abundant availability, and low cost make it an ideal candidate for bioconversion processes. However, the inherent recalcitrance of bagasse, primarily due to its lignin-rich matrix, necessitates effective pretreatment strategies to enhance enzymatic digestibility. This study presents a comparative investigation …
