Prediction of Depth-Induced Stress Distribution and Maintenance Cost Implications for Submerged Structural Components
Abstract: This study investigates the influence of water depth on stress distribution and structural integrity of submerged mechanical components . Structural models fabricated from mild steel, stainless steel, carbon steel, and copper alloy were examined under hydrostatic loading corresponding to water depths between 30 cm and 150 cm. Results indicate that normal and shear stresses increased proportionally with depth due to intensified hydrostatic pressure. Mild steel exhibited the highest stress concentrations, …

An Overview of New Coastal Research Vessel (N-CRV) Dry Dock and Construction
Abstract: A New Coastal Research Vessel (N-CRV) is a specialized ship designed for scientific research in fields like oceanography, geology, biology, and atmospheric studies, equipped with specific facilities and accommodations for sea missions. This paper discusses the coastal research ship dry-dock, construction, and design process, which involves three stages: concept, preliminary, and contract design. N-CRV must utilize scientific cruise, Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) survey, deployment, data collection, and seawater sample collection …

Analysis of the Impact of Seabed Earthquakes on Coastal Structures and Foundation Design
Abstract: Earthquakes in the seabed occur with varying magnitudes. Seabed earthquakes cause a rapid rise in water levels, which can lead to flooding and structural damage. Therefore, when designing buildings near the seashore, it is essential to account for the additional load on columns due to water thrust. Earthquakes occurring at the seabed generate intense ground acceleration of varying magnitudes, significantly affecting water levels and inducing destructive flooding along coastal regions. …

Characterization and Fabrication of Hybrid Matrix Composites of AZ91E Metal with Distinct Reinforcements of Fly Ash and ZrO2
Abstract: The current work choose the characteristics of (Magnesium composite) AZ91E-ZrO2-Fly ash Hybrid Metal Matrix using the regular analytic system. The chosen materials for this purpose are fly ash and ZrO2 in equivalent load extents, Stir casting uses a vortex technique to produce composite materials. A comprehensive experimental investigation was conducted to assess the performance characteristics of AZ91E-ZrO2-Fly ash during the cold upsetting process. The study involved utilizing AZ91E magnesium alloy …
