Synthesis of Novel Hybrid Biocomposites and Experimental Investigation of Mechanical Properties
Abstract: As industries increasingly adopt additive manufacturing, the demand for materials that offer better mechanical properties and functionality is on the rise. The purpose of present research work is to develop a novel hybrid biocomposites for 3D printing applications. The acacia bark, waste powder obtained from wet mahanarayan oil consisting of herbs and other bio filler was added in polylactic acid (PLA) for synthesis of hybrid biocomposites filament by twin screw …

Wettability and Physiothermal Analysis of Silver-Reinforced Eggshell-Derived Hydroxyapatite Based Biocomposite
Abstract: Hydroxyapatite (HAp), a biocompatible ceramic material, has garnered significant interest in medical applications due to its natural bone type replica. The current study investigates the physical, wettability, and thermal properties of a novel HAp derived from eggshell waste and reinforced with silver nanoparticles at 0.0, 0.1, 0.2 and 0.5 weight % concentration using chemical precipitation method and termed as HAP0.0Ag, HAP0.1Ag, HAP0.2Ag and HAP0.5Ag respectively. As observed, the Fourier transform …

Engineering Sustainable Interior Materials: Performance Analysis of PLA Composites Reinforced with Banana Stem Fiber and Spent Coffee Grounds
Abstract: This study presents the development and classification of eco-friendly composite panels reinforced with spent coffee grounds (SCG) and banana stem fibers (BSF) for interior applications. Hybrid composites were fabricated using polylactic acid (PLA) as the matrix with a constant filler loading of 30 wt%, varying BSF:SCG ratios (70:30, 60:40, 50:50). Mechanical testing revealed that the 70:30 composite exhibited the highest tensile strength (42 MPa) and flexural strength (58 MPa), whereas …

Sustainable Polymer Composites Reinforced with Natural Fibers: Processing, Properties, and Applications
Abstract: The environmental footprint of synthetic plastics has led to extensive studies of sustainable polymer composites reinforced with natural fibers like jute, sisal, hemp, flax, and coir. These biocomposites offer a greener solution to the conventional petroleum-based materials, which blends biodegradability and competitive mechanical characteristics. The present paper focuses on the processing methods, mechanical and thermal characteristics, and the possible application of natural fiber-reinforced polymer composites (NFRPCs). A survey of 50 …
